Head Coach

Inspirational Quote: "Practice makes permanent."

Swimming found me at a young age, when I was just 4 and 5 years old. However, it wasn't until I turned 6 that I officially joined my first swim team. Thriving in the YMCA programs throughout my high school years, I was fortunate to receive several college scholarship opportunities. Yet, it was the United States Naval Academy that captured my heart and became my top choice.

During my time at the Naval Academy, I had the privilege of enjoying an incredible swimming career spanning all four years from 1992-1996.  I achieved remarkable milestones, setting numerous records and ultimately being honored with the Admiral Lawrence Sword Award for being the best female athlete in my class. Even after graduating, my passion for swimming never waned. I continued to participate in triathlons and joined various master's swimming groups. Additionally, I took on the role of a swimming coach within my community in San Diego, working individually with athletes to enhance their swimming abilities and crafting swimming programs for several CrossFit programs.

When I'm not on the pool deck, I seek out adventures through travel, engage in regular exercise, and spend quality time with my loving husband and two daughters. The excitement of joining the Piranhas family fills us with anticipation for the remarkable adventures that await us.

As a coach, my vision for the team is to foster an environment where every member feels supported to unleash their full potential, both within and beyond the pool. I aim to inspire a culture of camaraderie and fun, where everyone is encouraged and supported to explore their abilities and push their boundaries in the water. The habits we cultivate will extend far beyond swimming, positively impacting the lives of our young athletes in every aspect. I know firsthand the transformative power of swimming, and I provide that same opportunity to others.

Jolene Cheviron

Assistant Coach / Level V Coach

Jolene brings over three decades of competitive swimming expertise, having started her journey in the pool at just six years old. A standout athlete, she served as Captain of the Division I Eastern Illinois University swim team, specializing in the 200 Butterfly and 400 Individual Medley. While at EIU, she earned her degree in Middle Level Education with concentrations in English and Physical Education.

With 15 years of coaching and swim instruction experience, Jolene has inspired and trained hundreds of swimmers—ranging from toddlers to teenagers—helping them develop both skill and confidence in the water.

Her competitive spirit didn’t stop at graduation. Jolene embraced the world of triathlon, completing over 40 races across Sprint, Olympic, and 70.3 distances, as well as three full IRONMAN events—most notably competing in the 2024 IRONMAN World Championships.

Passionate about instilling perseverance and a love for challenges in her athletes, Jolene continues to lead by example both in and out of the pool. She now resides in Böblingen with her husband and their three children—all proud members of the Piranhas swim team.

Eric Forsyth

Level III Coach

Philosophy: "Do Things Right and Do the Right Thing with Character, Strength, and Courage"

Eric’s swimming journey began on the beaches of the Great Lakes and led to a competitive amateur triathlete in college at the United States Air Force Academy.  He competed at Collegiate Triathlon Nationals in his Junior and Senior year.  In 2021 Eric became a swim dad when his kids began competitively swimming.  And when the Forsyths joined the Piranhas’ family in 2024, he volunteered to help coach.

Youth and coaching are passions and energy giving for him.  He coached youth t-ball, baseball, and softball.  He was lead instructor (sensei) for entry level white and yellow belts in Uechi Ryu karate.  Additionally, he teaches youth group at his local church.  He loves seeing young people try hard things, learn, and exude joy when they conquer.

Eric is a Level 2 – Strokes certified by the American Swimming Coaches Association.

When not on the pool deck, Eric enjoys exercising, karate, anything outdoors, and spending time with his beautiful wife and energetic kids.

Chloé DeLisle

Level II Coach

Chloé DeLisle was thrown into the pool at age 6 and has never looked back. From club swimming in Maryland, USA, varsity high school swimming, and collegiate swimming in Minnesota, her strong foundation of technique was supported by an ever-intensifying love of the sport.

She has spent the past decade in Colorado as a high school science and leadership teacher where she inspired young minds to ask tough questions as they learned to respect and understand the incredible anatomy and physiology that makes up their human bodies through Biology and Sports Exercise Health Science courses. Chloé brought her scientific knowledge and personal experience as a competitive swimmer (and the respective injuries sustained with over-use) to coaching girl’s high school swimming for 7 years. Improving technique through peer education is her jam because there’s nothing like proving you know something by being able to model it and teach it to someone else!

To this day, Chloé is a fish-out-of-water when not at the pool. From tripping over her own feet and falling up stairs, it’s a good thing she spends her land-time by nerding out with her husband, loving on her cat, being the best Auntie to her niblings, and playing with flowers.

Greg Field

Volunteer Coach

Quotes:
“SLOW is smooth, and smooth is FAST”
“Swim like a NINJA!”

Professional Background & Expertise: Coach Greg has been volunteering as a Piranhas Coach since the Fall 2022, because he is unable to sit still in the Parents Penalty Box at Machingen pool at 5:30am.  A career in the Marine Corps has made Coach Greg an expert in effective communication with 3rd graders, which ideally positioned him for coaching Level 1 and 2 swimmers.  He has also coached youth soccer, youth ice hockey, adult swimmers, and adult triathletes. Despite a thunderous Marine Corps voice that echoes in an indoor pool, Coach Greg is often seen with a megaphone, projecting at your swimmers.  He knows its hard enough for kids to listen at 5am, let alone when then are submerged underwater.

Personal Interests: Coach Greg was a competitive amateur triathlete, where he found a new love for swimming.  He is at peace whilst swimming because no one can talk to him.  However, one of his biggest passions is teaching and he believes that sharing knowledge is the cornerstone of community. Vision for Coaching: Coach Greg sees his primary role as teaching basic techniques (brilliance in the basics) and building confidence in young swimmers.  He is a believer in Total Immersion (by Terry Laughlin) and preaches a long, smooth swim stroke.  He finds it incredibly rewarding to support the transformation of novice swimmers into proficient swimmers in all 4 strokes, capable of completing full swim workouts, and finding personal success at swim meets.

Other Relevant Information: Studies show that 4 out of 5 Level 1 & 2 Piranhas swimmers agree that Coach Greg is the “Most Amazing Coach Ever!”  (Just for the record, the 5th kid was his daughter).
