Oh the Places You'll Go - Coach Elizabeth
As you know some of our coaches are college students and once they graduate it is time for them to grow. This means they may have to leave Red Dragons to continue to grow and pursue their desired profession. We encourage families to talk with their athletes of these changes as the coach and athlete relationship is a one-of-a-kind experience. We support our young coaches to pursue their dreams and hope they continue coaching, even if it is not with Red Dragons. Below is Coach Elizabeth's "Oh the Places You'll Go".

It has been nothing short of an honor to get to coach, build relationships with, and most importantly learn from each and every one of your children. These past, upcoming four years, with the Red Dragons has been life changing. And I would not replace the amount of growth I have done alongside your kids for anything.

Many of you may or may not know that I started competing at only 8 years old and fell in love, come high school I experienced health issues and a very non-understanding coach who did not support me along the way. I took a break from the world of swimming until I found coach Jess and the Red Dragons and found a reason to love the sport again. Each one of your kids have brought the utmost light and joy to my life and I am going to miss growing with them everyday.

I take my next steps to Bloomington MN as I start graduate school and take my next steps in life. But you can’t get rid of me that easily, my goal is to stay on top of the endless accomplishments from the Red Dragons, go to as many meets as possible, and be the biggest supporter and cheerleader for you and your children. I cannot put into words how difficult this transition is going to be for me as this team has been a major aspect of my life and I have watched many of your kids grow into themselves and watched them succeed and fail. My heart is forever going to be overflowing with the amount of support I have and continue to receive from the Red Dragon families. You have put your trust in me with your most prized possessions and I am forever grateful.

I will be coaching my last practice at the end May and will be cherishing every practice up until then. I am happy to answer any questions you may have, will shed plenty of tears, and would LOVE to stay in touch and be able to watch your kids grow into the amazing humans I know they will become.

With the most love,

Coach Elizabeth
