The Lion Mail: Our Swim Family is Growing
Next week the Stamford Lions Swim Academy will be moving into our final week of the interim programme, stay tuned for updates on what our next programme will look like.
Online Dry-Land Series Update
Our online dry-land programme accommodates for all age group and ability levels, with differing levels of intensity & exercise progressions. The programme incorporates strength, core, cardio & endurance elements needed for the demands of the sport. Specific target areas are aimed towards shoulder capacity, stability & resilience, multi-planar hip stability and strength for starts and turns, trunk control, rotation/stiffness general movement patterns.
Come Monday, we will start our new programme for our online dry-land series focused on movement competency. We are delighted at the number of attendees for our online dry-land and the vast improvement they have made.
As we are unable to share training equipment at this time, the Stamford Lions Swim Academy has made a bulk order for bands to add intensity to your online land sessions. These will be available for purchase for swimmers in Junior Performance, Age Performance, Youth Development and Youth Performance Squads looking to add load to their strength sessions.
Strength Bands Pack ($45.00):
- 3 Mini Bands (varying intensity)
- 3 cross training bands (varying intensity of 15Kg, 25Kg & 35Kg)
Strength bands will be used in dry-land activities both pre swimming and online. Swimmers must have their own equipment and are not allowed to share personal equipment under current restrictions.
If interested in purchasing a strength bands pack please email [email protected].

Golden Kickboard Awards
Last Friday we were excited to introduce our monthly golden kickboard awards! To work out the winner, we use a formula that calculates a % attendance rate of sessions available to each athlete.
A huge congratulations goes out to Lauryn Singleton and Dongwook Shin for being our highest attendees for the month of August and the privilege of being the first names on our golden kickboards!

Our Swim Family is Expanding
We are pleased to announce that we have two new additions to our Stamford Lions Swim Community!

We also welcome Coach Sarah , who over 20 years of PE teaching and coaching experience. Sarah has worked throughout Australia, the United Kingdom, Egypt and the Netherlands. She has a Bachelor of Education in Physical & Health and a Master of Education in Athletic Administration.
