Stamford American International School

Stamford American hosted the last of the swim in the Red vs Blue series on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th April at Lincoln Pool. The weather was beautiful, if a touch hot, but it stayed dry for the majority of the racing. There were 2 other schools that took part in the racing alongside Stamford American. Singapore National Age Groups took place at OCBC National Aquatic Centre following on from the Junior Championships just a few days before. They ran over 6 days from 12th - 17th March. Stamford American were represented by several swimmers, Jaiden, Seth, Lang, Miller, Mayya and Ariel. There was a massive 14 personal bests from 16 swims (87.5% PB rate) with everyone walking away with at least one personal best. Two swimmers made B finals, Jaiden in the 200m Butterfly eventually finishing 9th and Mayya in the 200m breaststroke finishing 22nd....

The Stamford American Athletic Awards night took place on Tuesday 12th March in the Reagan Theatre at teh Woodleigh Campus. The night was an opportunity to celebrate sporting acheivements from around the school. Lions Swim Academy were celebrating their SEASAC Senior Representatives of Jaiden, Seth, Lang, Altan and Andrew. Singapore National Age Group Championships took place at OCBC National Aquatic Centre from Friday 8th - Sunday 10th March 2024. Stamford American were represented by 4 young swimmers who had swam under the qualifying standard for the meet. Ezra, Nevan, Zoe and James were all representing Lions Swim Academy. DAY 1 - JUST THE BEGINNING SEASAC Senior Swim Meet took place at the Canadian International School in Hong Kong. Landing after a 4hr flight, the cool 20c conditions startled some students and were something different for many of the swimmers to experience. Stamford American were in action at the Singapore Proficiency Awards on 24th & 25th February at Tampines Hub Swimming Complex. It was the first time this meet had been swum at this particular venue, and a novel one at that. The 50m olympic size swimming pool is located 6 stories up and with a 4m deep multipurpose pool, certainly was an interesting proposition for our swimmers. This was one of the few meets where our swimmers compete in long course 50m pool events and our young lions did not disappoint....

A massive two days of swimming for Stamford American and visiting schools… even the thunder and lightening could put us off. There were 1180 entries from 6 different schools and 67 relays were swum. 10 different swimmers broke 31 school records from Stamford, 14 of these were double age-band records. Congratulations to all our record breakers Ezra, Kim, Andrew, Seth, Jaiden, Courtney, Ethan, Jasmine, Ariel and Hana B. Stamford Lions Swim Academy travelled to Bangkok, Thailand to race at SEASAC Junior Swim Meet designed for swimmers aged 11-14yrs of age. The team performed above expectation with a massive 76 personal bests from 91 swims (83.5% PB rate). The team of 13 swimmers consisted of Courtney, Aashna, Ksenia, Stepan, Kim, Hannah, Thomas, Altan, Arjan, Hery, Laila, Jasmine and Andrew.
