Lions Cub Champs 2023 a Roaring Success

A massive two days of swimming for Stamford American and visiting schools… even the thunder and lightening could put us off.

There were 1180 entries from 6 different schools and 67 relays were swum. 10 different swimmers broke 31 school records from Stamford, 14 of these were double age-band records. Congratulations to all our record breakers Ezra, Kim, Andrew, Seth, Jaiden, Courtney, Ethan, Jasmine, Ariel and Hana B. Our wider team took 285 PBS from 448 swim, 64% of swimmers improved their times from Stamford!

Obviously some good coaching going on as there were just 20x DQs our lowest number for this year. A round of applause for the coaching staff…

A very big thank you to all our volunteers, swimmers & parents who stayed to cheer on finals, timekeep, Marshall, team manger or just offered moral support. We want to continue to make swimming bigger and better at Stamford.
