Lions Shine Despite the rain at SSA Junior Time Trials in February
š£ SSA JUNIOR TIME TRIAL RESULTS - DAY 1š£
Day 1 finished at 6:30pm at Toa Payoh with some exhausted facesā¦and that was just the coaches! Every child walked away with a personal best time today! For some it was their first swimming competition, for others it was their first experience of racing in a 50m pool.
There were 28 PBS & 3x DQs from 32 swims on Day 1 (87.5% PB rate). There seems to be a health battle between the boys and the girls with boys just slightly ahead: Girls 12x PBS & 1x DQ from 14 swims (85.7% PB rate). Boys 16x PBS from 2x DQ 18 swims (88.9% PB rate). There are many highlights but at our first external meet of the year.
It is exciting to see these younger kids knock heaps off their times! All the race films have been uploaded to OnDeck for parents to enjoy their children racing.
š£ SSA JUNIOR TIME TRIAL RESULTS - DAY 2 š£
Day 2 was a bit of an anti-climax for š¦Lions Swim Academy š¦ as rain descended on Toa Payoh Swimming Complex. Majority of the boys heats were able to run with 5x PBS & 2x DQs from 7 swims. There were some excellent races.
Sadly, the thunder and lightening began and were so persistent that it sent Coach Heikal & Coach Paul scrambling for their mobile phones to let parents know of the various delays. Most of the girls āwavesā were cancelled.
However, Zoe & Skye were on hand to finish off their racing as the skies cleared with 2x great PBS. The tally of PBS finishes at 35 PBS from 41 swims and just 5x DQs. Thatās a whopping 85.3% PB rate!
Well done to everyone that raced. We have some very supportive parents at Stamford Lions Swim Academy. Now time to train and practice as much we can ahead of our next race and eventā¦
