Lions Swim Academy - Red vs Blue Meet 1
Lions Swim Academy hosted their first official meet on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September at Lincoln pool for the new academic year.
There were 70 athletes that took part ranging from Elementary all the way to High School. The electronic timing and touchpads were in operation along with the video scoreboard, really adding to the professional atmosphere.
“It was a busy day and the Aquatics Department did a great job in keeping the flow of the meet. Many swimmers were attempting race distances for the first time.” said Aquatics Director, Paul Dowey. There were 189 Personal Bests (PBs) from 296 swims (64% PB rate).
The Singapore Swimming officials were on hand to make sure the races followed the rule. This did mean we had a 42 DQs (Disqualifications), but it presents a challenge for our swimmers heading into our next meet.
Many thanks to Coach Oneida for operating the timing system along with Spectrum Imaging, to Coaches Heikal, Khidir and Derrick for their coaching on the day, Singapore Swimming Association for their Official volunteers and of course the parents for being timekeepers. Lets work hard swimmers for our next meet!
