Lions Swim Academy... a Feeding Frenzy!

Stamford American International School
Lions Swim Academy competed at Bangkok Patana's Feeding Frenzy held in Thailand on 9th -11th December. A team of 21 swimmers made the plane journey. It was the Stamford American first athletics team to travel overseas since November 2019.

The meet had 8 other travelling Singapore schools aswell as multiple teams from Vietnam and Thailand. There were plenty of Personal Bests (PBs), particularly with some swimmers racing for the first time long course. The running total finished with 86 PBs from 110 swims (78.18%).

With some tough competition signed up, the challenge for many of our athletes was just to break into the Top 10. Lions Swim Academy had 9 different athletes registering 22 swims inside the Top 10 rankings. They were Ezra, Courtney, Stepan, Emma, Seth, Ksenia, Jasmine, Cristina and Hannah. The girls 15yrs and over medley relay team also finished in 10th.

Our medalists were Ezra & Emma. Ezra picked up 4 medals (1 Gold, 1 Silver & 2 Bronze) whilst Emma picked up a Bronze in her favoured 50m backstroke event.

Very special mention to Coach Oneida for organising the trip and to Coach Sarah & Mr Harman for travelling with the team.
