The Florence Area Swim Team (FAST) is a competitive swim team in conjunction with USA Swimming. We are the only USA swim team in the Florence area and also one of the oldest swim teams in the state of South Carolina, dating back to the 1970s.

 

 

From 1981-2023, FAST called Francis Marion University (FMU) Aquatic Center home. The team was devastated last year to learn that FMU had chosen to fill in the current pool and replace it with an enlarged weight room. As of March 2023, the team was left without a place to continue this long-standing tradition of swimming.

 

 

However, in September of 2023, FAST was able to procure a practice space at McLeod Health & Fitness. With very limited options in Florence, we are very lucky to have been given this opportunity. We have now been at McLeod for a full calendar year and are embarking on our second season here. While we're very appreciative of the ability to keep our team in the water, the cost to practice at MHFC vs FMU has quadrupled.

 

 

Therefore, your support is crucial in maintaining our current practice place for the Florence area community of swimmers! We want to continue to grow our swimmers in and out of the pool and train and race competitively alongside the other teams in the state of South Carolina.
