Congratulations to our team members who swam at the High School State meet and excelled! We are proud of your accomplishment in qualifying for State and your great swims! Results: Virginia Summer placed 2nd in 100 backstroke with a time of 59.28 and 5th in 100 free with a 54.54. The Newberry Academy Boy's Swim Team won the 1A&2A SCISA Swimming Championship this past Saturday! Eels Austin Bartley and Josie West are members of the Newberry Academy Swim Team along with several other former Eels! Great job everyone!
We had a blast at the Intersquad meet this past Saturday! Congratulations to all of our swimmers! We were so proud of our Adult swimmers who joined in on the fun: Geri Brunelle, Sharah Clark, Scott Gardner, Chad Hawkins, Amelia Lewis, Julianne Senn, Deanne Sweet and Khristia Webb. Thomas and Virgina both swam a 100 fly time trial. Thomas swam a 1:00.94 which qualifies for Spring Nationals 2012, Virginina swam a 1:00.94 and qualified for Long Course Nationals 2012.
Kaitlin qualifed for the "C" final in 50 breast earlier today. Tonight's swim was great. Kaitlin was second in her heat and finished 22nd overall in 50 breast! Thomas and Elizabeth Anne both had best times in 50 free today!
Congratulations to Kaitlin Kunkle for making finals in the 50 meter breaststroke. She is seated 25th with a 35.71. Elisabeth Anne Orr swam a best time in 50 free 29.04 and made a cut for spring Ynats in a time trial for 100 back 1:10.74. Thomas Orr swam a best time in 50 free with a 25.90. Virginia Summer swam a 1:09.01 in 100 back.
