Royal Swimmers Capture 2 CIF Titles

This past weekend the high school swimmers of Royal competed in the 2024 CIF City and Southern Section Championships. Respectively they are racing the top swimmers throughout high schools in Southern California.


CIF CITY SECTION:
Congratulations to Jordyn Hale and Elise Kao for capturing 2 collective CIF titles in 50 free and 100 fly. They will both move onto State Championships in Fresno CA, Clovis High School this week.
Jordyn won the 50 free with a time of 24.24, (-0.03 sec drop) qualifying for Sectionals, and placing third in 100 fly (-0.69 sec drop). Elise Kao won the 100 fly with a 58.74 (-2.74 sec drop) to qualify for Sectionals for the first time!

Emma Canter: 200 IM (-5.58 sec drop from previous best time) & 100 FLY
Robert Chinchilla: 200 IM & 100BK
Will Ryan: 100 BK (- 5.95 sec drop from previous best time)
 
Honorable mentions:
Rowan Sellars: 200 FR & 100 FR
Ethan Pan: 100 BK
 
SOUTHERN SECTION:
Congratulations to David Mazyan for placing 2nd in the 50 free with a lifetime best of 20.70 (-0.64 sec drop) and new ROYAL Team Record for boys 15-16. David also placed 4th in the 100 free with a time of 46.44 and prelim time of 46.08 (-0.67sec drop). David will be competing at the CIF State Champs this week at Clovis High School in Fresno.
Nikita Cutidioc placed 9th in 200 IM and 4th in 100 back. Nikita swam a lifetime best in the 100 back with a time of 52.76 (0.17 sec drop).
 
Honorable mention: Victoria Shlimovich 500 free (6:02.77).
