11 qualifiers Make Roster For Spring Age Group Champs After Pacific Champs

This past weekend there were 20 Royal swimmers represented at the 2024 Pacific Champs. This meet was held throughout 3 days at Rose Bowl Aquatic Center. We had over 40 final swims with tons of new best times and Spring Age Group Qualifications.

Here are some highlights:

- 20 Swimmers

- 43 final swims

- 90% best times in at least one event

- Porter Zinn qualified for Spring Age Groups for the FIRST TIME in (100 BR)

- Stella Tokuyama qualified for Spring Age Groups for the FIRST TIME in (50 FR)

- Stella Tokuyama had 100% best times in all her events (50 FR, 100 IM, 50 FLY)

- Sasha Bolton had 100% best times in all his events (100 BR, 100 FR, 400 IM, 200 BR, 500 FR, 200 FR, 50 FR, 1000 FR)

- Sasha Bolton raced the longest combined distance of 2650 yards in 3 days

- Valentin Kiselev completed all 14 events, swimming finals in all 7 events (200 BK, 100 FLY, 100 BK, 50 FR, 50 BR, 200 FR, 100 BR) Scoring 100 points

- Marco Sampaio had the biggest time drop from the boys. He dropped -14.61 in his 500 freestyle in the championship finals

- Carolina Sampaio had the biggest time drop for the girls. She dropped -6.78 sec in her 200 freestyle in the championship finals

Congratulations to all swimmers, parents, and coaches who made this a great meet. Big thanks to Kim/Daines family for taking home canopies and to Silva and Tyzsko family for taking extra shifts for timing. Parents, please make sure to refer back to the volunteer requirement email.
