Family Owned Team

Our family has been in the swimming world since 1966. Carolyn Sweetman began teaching swimming lessons at Vanderbilt Swimming. She became the head instructor of swimming lessons at Vandy and then opened her swim school in 1970. Bubbles and Roll Swim School was established, and our core values and fundamentals of instruction have remained steadfast at their roots. Coach Gareth then opened Sweetman Swim School in 2006. He has taught over 30,000 children to swim since he began. In 2011, He started a USA Swim Team through PCA. After leading the PCA Sealions to 3 top 10 Southeastern short course Championship finishes in the first 3 years of founding, he founded Streamline Aquatic Club in 2014. His learn-to-swim program also boasts 12 Southeastern Championship winners over as many years.

We pride ourselves in being a small, family-owned team with a close-knit culture and supportive environment. With a team size of 60, we can offer personalized coaching to every swimmer’s needs. We aim to know our swimmers and have a close relationship with them, allowing us to support and impact their lives as much as possible. Swimming is our way of life and passion!

In the same fashion as Carolyn Sweetman and Coach Gareth Sweetman, Coach Kaira Sweetman and Caden Sweetman have followed in their footsteps as 3rd generation instructors and coaches. Coach Kaira has been a swim instructor for 12 years and is now co-head instructor at Sweetman Swim School. She has been a USA Swim Coach for 9 years, and Head Coach of Streamline Aquatic Club for 3 years. Coach Caden has been a swim instructor for 8 years and a USA Swim Coach for 4 years.

Working as a family, we have dedicated our lives to ensuring children are equipped with water safety skills. We aim to develop these skills into a love for the sport of swimming that translates to a life-long skill and passion.
