The STAC Mission
To provide a program that develops the best training environment available to competitive swimmers in the Rutherford County area on par with the organization of USA Swimming. To teach, train, and motivate young athletes to achieve their highest potential in competitive swimming with the belief that this experience will provide life skills that will prove to be invaluable assets throughout their swimming career and adult life.
Philosophical Objectives
At each level of the program, swimmers are instructed to strive for excellence. Excellence in this sense represents the achievement of a level at which the individual knows he/she has done the utmost to become the best he/she is capable of becoming. This philosophy is consistent throughout the program.
The STAC program will be aimed at long-term success to produce a long-term "family" of progressing athletes; receiving the benefits of lifelong health, social growth, and successful academic and athletic performance.
STAC will provide multi-level programs, geared to the individual needs of our swimmers. We will emphasize mental preparation, fundamental skills, physical conditioning, productive work habits, character growth, healthy competition, and, most of all, enjoyment.
The Importance of Sport In Life
Our coaches aim to share their passion for the sport of swimming by inspiring the next generation of athletes to develop a passion of their own. When it comes to children, three adult figures impact their development the most- parents, teachers, and coaches- each in their own way. At STAC, we recognize the difference in our impact compared to others' and emphasize our importance in our swimmers’ lives as their coaches. As coaches, our role is to see the potential in our swimmers and initiate them to see and act upon this potential themselves. We build confidence and determination to empower our swimmers to work hard, applaud progress, cope with dissatisfaction, and grow as a result of it. Not only will this develop accountability, but it will hopefully spark a desire to succeed that will guide these children to succeed in their future endeavors and be resilient enough to continue to do so despite the obstacles.
We inspire; we teach; we lead.
We lose; we critique; we practice; we improve
We win; we congratulate; we practice; we still improve
We support; we love; we grow.
No matter the circumstance, we do these things and we do them together, as a team, as Streamline Aquatic Club.
Being a part of this team may initially begin as a form of entertainment or a way to stay active. Our goal is to lead our athletes, no matter their objective, to see how rewarding the sport of swimming can be, and to see that the power has been in their hands all along!
