The Florida Swimming office will be on part time hours Friday, December 13, 8:30 to 1:00 and, we will be closed for the holidays, December 24, 2013 through January 1, 2014.

The new 2014 FLAGS Time Standards have been approved and are now posted here. These times will be in effect for the 2014 Spring FLAGS Championships on March 13-16, 2014 to be held at Sarasota, FL.

“For those interested in becoming a U.S.A. Swimming Official, two separate Stroke and Turn Certification Training Clinics will be held at Bolles on Tue, 17 Dec at 5:00 p.m., and again on Wed, 18 Dec at 6:00 p.m. in the dry land training room (between the two pools).  Interested parents may attend either session as a precursor to beginning their Stroke and Turn apprenticeship on deck at any U.S.A. swim meets. “Please contact Sue Talwar with any questions @ [email protected] or (904) 803-8681.”

Judi Wojcik will be doing a Stroke and Turn Clinic at Sailfish Splash, Stuart on Jan. 24, Friday at 5:30pm, and a Starter and Deck Referee clinics at 12:30pm on Sat, January 25.  She may also add another ST clinic on Sat or Sunday at Sailfish if requested.   Attendees should download, review, and print the S&T Clinic packet on the "Officials Forms" page of the FloridaSwimming.org website, bring it to the clinic, and email Judi if they intend to attend so a big enough room can be reserved.  ([email protected]) ...

There will be an Admin Official Clinic on Saturday, November 23 at the SYS Turkey Meet in Sarasota.  The clinic will begin at approximately 11:00 am (during the 1000 Freestyles in the morning session).  Anyone interested in attending the clinic should meet at the entrance to the pool.  We will then go to one of the meeting rooms in the main facility across the street.    The clinic will take approximately 75 minutes.   Please let me know if you have any questions.   Thanks!   Matt Wilson [email protected]
