Through decisive action at today's House of Delegates meeting, USA Swimming will expand its athlete protection efforts across multiple areas. The measures, which were put forth by the Board of Directors, will educate the membership on the issue, implement athlete protection policies, expand background checking to include all non-athlete members and require those employees and volunteers that interact with athletes to become members, and therefore undergo background checking. The SES office will be closed from Sept 14 - 19, 2010. I will be attending the convention in Dallas. I will have my computer with me please make appropriate arrangements for sending in your registrations ---- do not enter a child into a meet that is NOT registered (in the system-not showing up in your club portal). Also, I have had a lot of meet invitations come my way for sanctioning missing the new disability form (approved last Spring meeting) and the new Unattached requirement from USA Swimming (June)....

To LSC General Chairs, Sanction Chairs, Permanent Offices From Bruce Stratton, Rules Committee Chair Conditions of Sanction Under our current rules when a swimmer shows up at a meet unaccompanied by a coach, the Meet Host or Referee are required to insure the swimmer will be supervised by a USA Swimming member coach. However, there is no requirement or procedure for insuring that the unaccompanied swimmer has been properly trained and certified by a USA Swimming member coach to execute a racing start.
