4/17/23- Sam performed her speech. Austin will perform next week. Assigned Personal Narrative Speech due on May 1st for everyone.

4/13- Emme performed her speech. Sam will perform Monday.


4/12- Milly performed her speech on Wednesday. Emme and Sam will perform their speeches tomorrow

4/10/23- Eden and Libby performed their Vacation Destination speeches. Emme and Milly will perform their speeches Wednesday. Austin and Sam will present their speeches on Thursday.

2/20/23- completed Unique Object Soeeches. Started research for Historical Figure Speech. Due in two weeks.

2/13/23- we are postponing speeches until Wednesday, 21/15/23

2/6/23- students will present a speech next week about a unique object that is meaningful to them. We discussed the requirements for a good speech, which was then emailed to them.

1/3123- we watched a commencement speech and analyzed his speeches and the tools he used to make a good speech.

8/15/22- went over syllabus for school year. Read through first part of "introduction to communication". Assigned introductory speech. Rough draft due in 2 weeks on 8/29/22. Speeches will be performed on 8/12/22.

9/19/22- identified different gestures. Read article and answered questions about gestures and the do’s and don’ts of using gestures.

9/26/22- copied definitions of public speaking terms and discussed examples of each term. Any incomplete terms are to be completed over the break.

10/17/22- reviewed how to write a speech outline. Assigned topics and grading rubric for writing a speech outline. Due by next Monday, 10/24/22

10/24/22- we learned about stage fright. What it is and how to overcome it.

10/31/22- discussed how to write a speech of introduction for another person. Assigned students to interview a classmate and prepare their speech for next Monday. Partners listed below.

11/7/22- performed speeches of introduction. Assigned vocabulary terms for sales speech, due next Monday, 11/14/22.

12/5/22- completed quiz on Storybook speech vocab. Assigned Storybook Analysis and rubric. Will present Storybooks next Monday.

1/16/23- Discussed guidelines for presenting and receiving an award. Students will give speeches presenting and receiving an award next week.

1/23/23- we gave speeches presenting and receiving awards. Next week we will give speeches telling a story.
