October 30, 2025

Today the whole school got together to celebrate. Everyone had spaghetti and meatballs. After lunch we painted faces and roasted marshmallows outside. 

We had a special birthday party for Everett who turns six tomorrow. I think he grew a whole inch!!!

I want all the parents to know how I love teaching your children. They are eager to learn, are smart and so kind and caring to each other. I am so proud of each and every one of them. 

September 18 2025

Today we are reading "The book Where the Mountain Meets the Moon" by Grace Lin. We work with vocabulary words from the story. 

This afternoon we will be making strawberry shortcake and I  will OK be teaching the students how to use a knife to cut the strawberries. Parents don’t worry, we use safe plastic knives that doesn’t cut skin. 😊

A month has passed already and we’ve been so busy! We are learning about Asia and some of the cultural differences, customs and traditions. 

We have read the book "Big Mooncake for Little Star" by Grace Lin, that teaches the phases of the moon. We have made resin wind chimes showing the phases of the moon. We learned about cultural Festivals like the Moon Festival. We learned about foods you might find at the festival. We have made Mango Sticky Rice, Sweet Potato Curry, Fried Rice, and Mooncakes. 

We have started to read the book "Where the Mountain Meets the Moon " by Grace Lin. We will learn about how fables and stories are deeply imbedded in some Asian Cultures and how these teach traditions and moral principles like honesty, respect and kindness. 

I am sure the coming month will be filled with activities and more about Asia.
