2024/2025 Season Details

Mission Statement

The St. James Swim Team aims to provide the highest quality of training and competition preparation as well as providing support and an opportunity for every athlete to achieve their highest potential.

Pre-Requisites

  • Legal in all four strokes
  • Knows how to perform dives and turns
  • Must tryout OR provide legal proof of time (NVSL or USAS)
    • Tryout may be performed via trial practice with appropriate group

Summer Olympic Session (May 27 - July 31)

Give your athlete the chance to train lilke an Olympian. Practice will be focused on building endurance in each stroke, maintaining good technique, and longer durations of speed. This will greatly compliment any NVSL swimmers looking to take their sport to the next level. 

 8 + Unders - Swims 2-4 times per week

9 - 10yr/olds - Swims 2-4 times per week

11 - 12yr/olds - Swims 2-4 times per week

13 - 14yr/olds - Swims 2-4 times per week

15 - 18yr/olds - Swims 2-4 times per week

Spring Sprint Session (April 7th - May 23rd)

This 7-week unique session that specifically prepares and progresses swimmers in all 4 strokes for summer swim. We will provide conditioning for all strokes, focusing on speed and technique. All PM practices will be in SCY (short course yards). Long course practice add ons available. Long Course Morning Practices (April 7th - May 23rd)

Give your athlete the chance to train lilke an Olympian. Practice will be focused on building endurance in each stroke, maintaining good technique, and longer durations of speed. Every practice will be in LCM (Long Course Meters). This will greatly compliment any NVSL swimmers looking to take their sport to the next level and it largely unique to the STJ  facilities. Short Course Session (Sept 3 - March 21)

This session is to provide your athlete with a full short course season, with training plans for athletes focused on swimming. This is accompanied with in house, swim specific, strength training that will compliment your athlete's swimming regime.

Strength and Conditioning Add On

This optional program is only available to the Competitive team. It includes targeted strength training, cardio, and flexibility exercises designed specifically for swimmers by our in house certified coaches.

Program Details:

Workouts: 1-hour sessions, once or twice a week for 26 weeks (Mon/Thur from 6-7PM)

Benefits: Enhance performance, prevent injuries, and improve overall fitness.

Customized Plans: Tailored workouts to meet individual goals and needs.

Progress Tracking: Regular assessments to monitor and adjust training.

Spring Sprint Long Course Add On

Add 1x practice a week to your athlete's regular Sprint session with a Long Course practice on either Monday through Thursday (am), or Friday (pm). The practice times are the same as regular long course practices for your athlete's age group.

Suppliment your athlete's trainning and athletic knowledge with our optional Strength and Conditioning add on with in house STJ Swimming dedicated athletic trainers.

Swim Tryouts

The St. James Swim Program is Hosting Tryouts for all Swim Programs 

While tryouts may not be necessary *see group requirements* if you are still unsure on which program is right for your athlete, or if your athlete requires an evaluation prior to joing his group, please register for one via LeaugeApps linked here.

Note: If multiple athletes of the same family need evaluations, simple register once and bring them all.
