SWAMIs "Cache In"

SWAMIs “Cache In” at Cache Valley Meet

HYRUM, UT -- Race Swami sent one of its largest contingencies yet in its brief history when the SWAMIs embarked on the Valley of Cheese for the Cache Valley Marlins December Meet on December 10th. SWAMis young and younger were in attendance, though the Senior Swamis were forced to swim under the rather dull moniker of "Unattached" due to high school swimming requirements.

Yet still, the green and gold fleur di lis sailed often and proudly as each SWAMI produced great results, event after event, from the plethora of awesome swimming. From Amelia Wolfgramm, MOTLEY!, and Autumn Wollfgramm in the senior age group classification, to Fanetupou Wolfgramm, Blaire McDowell and "rookie"  Isabella Zamora in the 11-12 girls, to 10-under superstars Peyton Ledbetter (girls) and Zerin Wolfgramm (boys), it was an all-out assault on the annals of fast swimming.

Couple that with all the Judge Memorial teammates who were also in attendance--Allison Witte, Alandra McDowell and Connor Morgan--and it was a festive environment with lots of cheering, dancing and racing.

Connor to be sure, had an epic 100 back, taking nearly 3 seconds off from his previous best in the event. Allison had a remarkable underwater adventure during her 100 back by spending most of it down below traveling at what seemed like supersonic speed. She recorded a terrific time as well. The 1000 had a total of ten swimmers entered in the grueling event... 8 of those swimmers were from the Race Swami-Unattached-Judge camp. That event was led by distance phenom, Alandra McDowell, who looked as if she could have gone on with that amazing pace for 40 days .

Isabella Zamora made her debut into USA Swimming and judging by how she swam her "maiden voyage" race, the 100 back, this will be one name you'll remember at the 2020 Olympics in (fill in city with lots of money here).

As for whether Race Swami won the meet, who knows?... they didn't keep score. Had they made things interesting, SWAMI would have certainly brought home some serious hardware and all the adulation and over indulgent media hype that surely goes with it back to their home in Rose Park. But instead, the SWAMIs celebrated plentifully at the famous Maddox Drive-in, chowing down legendary burgers, fried chicken and bison burgers to replenish those hungry tummies (especially Zerin!). Then it was a 90 minute journey back to Rose Park, likely in a sleepy stupor for these young, hard working, talented SWAMis.

Up next for the SWAMI Heros of Yore adorned in Green & Gold is the Kearns Holiday Meet at the Kearns Oquirrah Family Fitness Center in Kearns. A shorter distance to rein speed on the masses to be sure, the Swamis will prepare themselves under the guise of methodical perfection, honing their skills for the next great leap of improvement, hoping to once again grace the pool with speed so cunning it leaves spectators marveling at the wonders of SWAMI.

Until then... we meet at the meet again....
