STORM Swim Team

We are excited to announce our Winter STORM options for 2026. Our official season will begin on Wednesday, January 7 with practice for Age Group. Purple Team will begin on Tuesday, January 20. Swimmers who are new to STORM will require an evaluation. Please contact us via email to schedule your evaluation   [email protected] .
 
Age Group
This group is for swimmers who have graduated from Purple Team as well as those who are still developing stroke and technique skills. Swimmers who are not yet eligible to participate with RCHS swimming can register for this group. 
  • Dates: January 7 - April 9
  • Practice Schedule: Monday - Thursday from 5:30 - 6:30 pm
  • Cost per swimmer: $250
Purple Team
This group is for swimmers who can complete a full lap of the pool independently, but who have not yet mastered all 4 strokes. Swimmers who have already completed multiple sessions of our group lessons program are a good fit for this group. Swimmers in Purple Team typically range from age 7 to age 10. 
  • Dates: January 20 - April 9
  • Practice Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday from 5:30-6:15pm
  • Cost per swimmer: $275
 
A note about USA Registration: USA Swimming registration is the annual cost that swimmers pay to participate in USA Swimming sanctioned meets and be insured for their participation as a member of STORM. We require USA Swimming registration for all swimmers who participate in STORM Age Group practices. Purple Team and Fall Team swimmers who plan to compete in swim meets must also be registered. If your swimmer registered with USA in fall 2025, they are in good standing for the winter season. If your swimmer is newly joining in January, they must register with USA Swimming before attending practice.
 
Note: USA Registration has two levels, premium and flex. 
  • Swimmers over the age of 12 or who wish to participate in championship level meets should select premium registration. 
  • Swimmers 12 and under and those who do not wish to participate in championship meets may choose the flex option. 
  • Please do not select seasonal membership. This membership is intended for short-term registration and does not apply to our groups.

Rockbridge Storm is a club swimming team affiliated with USA Swimming. We offer instruction, training and competition for swimmers in the Rockbridge area.

Storm’s mission is to provide a quality swim program for swimmers of all ages and abilities by providing professional instruction in an innovative, goal-oriented environment. The coaching staff endeavors to teach, train and motivate swimmers to achieve their ultimate potential in swimming in the belief that this experience will prove valuable to them as they grow and develop. STORM is committed to providing a safe environment for all participants. To do so we have athlete protection policies and guidelines in place in accordance with USA Swimming best practices.

Storm strives to instill an appreciation for personal accountability, self-motivation, goal setting and goal achievement in its swimmers. It is our belief that the process of achieving is as significant as the achievement itself.

The team competes in local and regional competitions sanctioned by United States Swimming Inc., the national governing body for amateur swimming.
