Valley Swim Team Phoenix - About Us

VSTP is a year round competative youth swim club. Our practice facility is located in Strasburg, VA with members from the surrounding areas of Winchester, Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke and  Warren counties in Virginia as well as Jefferson County, WV.

VSTP was founded in March 2005 by a group of parents to offer a guided youth program for children ages 5 and up, from the beginning swimmer to the competitive and skilled swimmer.  We are a Non profit entity with a volunteer parent Board . We strive for our team to grow to a level producing highly competitive swimmers who will in turn play a major role in Virginia swimming. During its short history, Phoenix is proud of its achievements. We have taken swimmers to the Regional, State, Zone, Sectional, and Junior National levels of the sport.

Phoenix swimming is structured. Discipline, hard work, and personal responsibility are key components to Phoenix swimmers striving to achieve excellence according to their ability.  The acquisitions of these skills and the strong swimmer/coach relationship will lead to fun because, at Phoenix, swimming Phast is Phun.  VSTP gives swimmers a chance to develop strong, lasting relationships with their teammates, coaches, and families.  Due to our commitment to focusing on the mechanics, strategies, and development of the swimmer, we are able to structure practices and workouts for Phoenix swimmers.

Valley Swim Team Phoenix is affiliated with USA Swimming and is a member of Virginia Swimming. VSTP is in the northern region of Virginia Swimming which includes teams in Winchester, VA and stretches south towards Fredericksburg, VA. We attend short course and long course meets year round. We host two short course meets a year in Warrenton, VA at the Warrenton Aquatic Recreatation Facility, Icebreaker (December) and Polar Plunge (January).
