Goggles:

A great goggle related item to have for everyone is anti-fog spray.  It is fairly cheap on the TYR team store and works well to keep the fog out of your goggles while swimming.

  • Close to a competitive style swim goggle while still being very comfortable for new/young swimmers
  • Has an easily adjustable strap that is very comfortable.

TYR Youth Blackhawk Racing Goggles
  • Competitive style swim goggle that is designed to fit the youth​
  • Have a racing style goggle strap (these are standard on the older swimmers goggles).

TYR Adult Socket Rocket 2.0
  • Swedish style goggles with soft rubber gaskets rather than the hard plastic ones normally found on Swedish goggles (note that these are a bit different than normal goggles and may take some getting used to).
  • The most adjustable goggles that you can buy.
  • The cheapest goggles that I would recommend.

TYR Adult Blackhawk Racing Goggles or TYR Adult Black Ops Racing Goggles
  • If you were to buy one pair of goggles, either of these are the ones I would recommend
  • Great goggles for both practices and for meets.  Swimmers at the highest level wear these at competitions.
  • Blackhawk model offers perscription goggle options.
  • Very affordable, durable, and comfortable.

TYR Stealth-X Racing Goggles
  • Similar to the Blackhawk and Black Ops goggles in that they are great for everyday use.
  • High quality materials, a low profile on the face, and great peripheral vision make these goggles stand out.  That does mean that they are slightly more expensive than the other goggle models.

  • Affordable durable everyday suits.
  • Many different options including youth sizes, different strap options, different cuts, and tons of colorways.
  • All BASS Team Suits are Durafast Elite suits.

TYR Men’s Trainer
  • Men’s dragsuit with an inner lining.  Great option for 13 and older males who want to train with little extra drag during swim practices.
  • Extremely durable.

 

Race Specific Suits 

Important**  These are not a “need to have" by any means.  A regular BASS Suit or Practice suit works perfectly for big championship meets.  I am listing my recommendations here for anyone interested in buying a race specific suit because there are a lot to choose from and it can be overwhelming looking into them all.  

Sizing Tips: I always recommend trying these suits on in person at a meet before purchasing.  Finding out which cut of suit feels comfortable (high waist/low waist for men or open back/closed back for women) and the right size is the most important thing when purchasing a racing suit. These suits should fit very snug.

  • 12 and Under Compliant
  • Provides low profile stitching, hydrophobic materials, and isolated compression at a relatively low price

TYR Venzo
  • Ages 13 and older only!
  • High waist and low waist options for men.  Closed back and open back options for women.  
  • High compression suit which is great for lower distance events (50s, 100s, and possibly 200s).
  • The “Venzo Phantom” Model has slightly less compression.  It is still great for sprint events but is much more versatile which makes it more usable for races like the 400 IM and 500 Free.
TYR Avictor
  • Ages 13 and older only!
  • High waist and low waist options for men.  Closed back and open back options for women.  
  • Great flexibility and lower compression make this a great option for distance swimmers.  This suit is a mainstay in the 1500 freestyle and the 400 IM finals at world championship meets.
