Meet Spectator Rules at Juanita Aquatic Center
Below are the Spectator Rules at all of Wave’s meets at JAC to ensure fairness for everyone and to give all parents an equal chance to enjoy watching Wave and their swimmer compete at upcoming meets.
- The locker rooms are closed except for swimmers. The bathrooms in the tunnel between the pool and gym will be open and we ask all spectators to use the bathrooms there instead. This helps protect athletes and keeps WAVE in compliance with all SafeSport rules.
- The deck is a closed deck during swim meets. We ask that all parents please stay off the deck once the facility opens for the swim meet. This means please do not come on deck to help your swimmer “set up” or “break down” to go home.
- Upstairs on the balcony, near the starting blocks is now being used for the swim meet and is closed for all spectator traffic. Please enter and exit the upstairs from the lobby staircase. If you are spectating and have a volunteer shift coming up, we ask that you still please use the lobby staircase and come down on deck to check in for your job.
- The upstairs bleacher area is a no chair area. Please do not bring any chairs as there is no room for them with the new spectator configuration. Bleacher seating is all that will be available as the bleachers will be too close to the railing to accommodate any chairs. In the past, the number of chairs created a real fire safety concern in the event the unthinkable happened.
- Due to the limited space, spectators will no longer be allowed to save their spot overnight. Any items left on the bleachers will be picked up and placed in the Lost and Found at the end of the last session of each day of the meet. Lost & Found will be in the lobby during the meet in the event anyone lost anything.
