Colman Pool and Summer Schedule

Colman Pool

A few notes regarding Colman:

  • Bring your equipment (fins, water bottles, etc.)
  • Dress warm. It is usually 10 degrees cooler down on the water, and it can be windy on the point where the pool sits
  • Be sure to check the weather report ahead of time
  • Remember that it takes about 10 minutes or so to walk to the pool from the parking lot
  • The pool is half salt water and half fresh water with some chlorine mixed in. It tastes weird.
  • Make sure you have extra goggles, cap, etc.
  • Be prepared with Sunscreen. It's much harder to swim with a sunburn.

Colman Pool is an outdoor 50 meter pool that sits on the sound (you can throw a rock into the ocean from the pool) in Lincoln Park, West Seattle. You can find directions on our Pools page:

Colman Pool is our only option when it comes to getting long course training time in. It makes a big difference to get that long course time in so we highly encourage everyone to try and make it.
