Saturday March 2

Swim-A-Thon!

All Excel and High School swimmers are in 6:00-8:00am at Juanita

All Explore, Challenge and Achieve swimmers are in 8:00-10:00am at Juanita

Perform and HP groups are on their normal schedule at Redmond

 

·         8:00am Pirate Costume Contest

·         Margaret Hoelzer (2008 Olympic Gold Medalist and World Record Holder, 200 Back) will be on deck from 7:30-10am to sign autographs, take pictures, etc. She will do a more formal autograph session from 9:15-10:00am

·         Raffle prizes, food and drink are on going until 10am.

 

Swim-A-Thon FAQ’s

Q. Do I need to sign up to attend the Swim-A-Thon?

A. No! Just show up ready to swim and have fun!

 

Q. Is there normal practice schedule on Saturday?

A. No, we are only using the Swim-A-Thon schedule noted above.

 

Q. Will the coaches count my swimmer’s laps?

A. No, you will be on deck doing that. We will provide chairs, pens, clipboards and counter sheets.

 

Q. How many laps can my swimmer do?

A. The limit is 200 lengths in 2 hours

 

Q. Why do we do a Swim-A-Thon?

A. The funds raised from this event go directly back to the team. Some likely uses for the funds raised include- new pace clocks at Redmond, Dryland mats and a way to store them at Redmond, other Dryland equipment at both pools, pool covers at Juanita, sending coaches to clinics, bringing in specialists to talk to swimmers, coaches, families.   

 

Q. Is the Swim-A-Thon over on Saturday?

A. No! Swimmers have until March 18 to continue to collect funds. Prizes will be awarded after that with some prizes being awarded at the Team Banquet in May.

 

Sunday March 3

March Madness Swim Meet

Session 3 Sunday Morning; all 12 and younger girls, 10 and younger boys; arrival time is 7:45am

Session 4 Sunday Afternoon; all 13 and older girls, 11 and older boys; arrival time is 12:45pm
