October Challenge Results
Our first Challenge meet of the year provided some nice racing opportunities with some swimmers from other teams.
Each coach chose their favorite race from each group with a quick note as to why.
Here is whose races they chose:
· Explore 1 JAC- Megan Ward No DQ's, no DQ's! Amazing legal swims done by this Explore
· Explore 1 RAC- Joshua Wu has been racing well in practice and it showed at the meet
· Explore 2 JAC- Ari Riley 50 Free, powerful kicks swimming in 5th gear
· Explore 2 RAC- Yana Nanda 50 Back, great first time swim, great job!
· Challenge 1 JAC- Alex Byoko, 100IM. Even though his goggles fell off on the start, he pushed through the race and still dropped almost 16 seconds from his best time.
· Challenge 1 RAC- Ella Reedy’s hard work is paying off as her freestyle keeps getting better and better
· Challenge 2 JAC- Charlotte Conze 500 Free, great job on your first distance race!
· Challenge 2 RAC- Zoe Osborn 50 Free, some fast swimming, getting closer to a PNS cut
· Achieve 1 JAC- Olivia Lautman 50 Free, great fast tempo, 5th gear speed!
· Achieve 1 RAC- Evan Hunt 100 Breast, you gotta love big time drops like that!
· Achieve 2 JAC- Ellen Ko, 100 Free. First ever Gold time!
· Achieve 2 RAC- Alicja Msiuda 500 Free, went out aggressively and posted a best time in the 200 at the split. Dropped 52 seconds on the 500
· Excel 1- Anamika Nanda 200 Fly, dropped 11 seconds and got her first 12 year old champ cut.
· Excel 2- Leo Zhang 200 IM, raced with great effort right from the start and posted a strong early season time
· Varsity- Sam Jonsson 100 free, great high intensity swim, out fast, finished fast, looked AWESOME
· Perform- Aidan Laird swam like a boss dropping a combined total of 18 seconds/ John McDonagh, 400 IM ; John hasn't always been a fan of this race, but he got on the blocks with a good attitude and mindset and proceeded to drop 30 seconds! The look of confidence on his face when he got out of the pool summed up the whole swim. He made good choices, worked hard and was happy with the outcome. What more can you ask for?
· High Performance- Jackie Bennett, 200 Free ; Jackie focused on doing skills right, didn't worry about any other lanes and competed against herself. She was surprised to learn that she had dropped 3 seconds! When you focus on the process, the outcome takes care of itself
