December Meets Primer

December Meets Primer

Which meet should you attend?

Well that depends on your swimmer but you should plan to attend at least one of the three, and possibly two.

Coaches are looking at meet results to decide which athletes need to be moved from their present group to a different group. The athletes have been working hard for 3 months so should be more prepared at this point to drop time and swim fast than at any point in the season.  Be sure to give your swimmer the opportunity to help their ranking and see the pay-off for their efforts at practice by having them attend one of these meets:

Fall Divisional; December 7-8

·          Hazen High School Pool, Renton

·          No qualifying standards

·          There are de-qualifying standards for 11 and Older swimmers (PNS Champs for 11-14 year olds, WA State Senior Champs for 15 and Older swimmers)

·          11 and older swimmers have a prelims/finals format which is a terrific opportunity to earn a second race and get some experience racing in finals

·          Coaches have committed all swimmers in Explore 1 & 2, Challenge 1 & 2, Achieve 1 & 2, and Varsity to attend

·          De-commit deadline is Friday, November 22nd. We won’t send entries in until Wednesday of the next week, so depending on what happens at the November AGI meet we can make adjustments for your swimmer as needed.

14 & Under PNS Championship Meet; December 13-15

·          There are qualifying standards for individual events and relays

·          Even if your swimmer does not qualify as an individual, they may have an opportunity to swim on a relay which is a big deal and terrific for them in terms of confidence and experience.

·          Check out our relay rankings updated through the Fall Back Meet (November 2). We will finalize those for the PNS Champs Meet following this weekend

·          Coaches will automatically enter all athletes who qualify
