Fall Divisional Meet Recap

The December 7-8 weekend Wave had 150 swimmers signed up to compete at the Fall Divisional meet at the Hazen High School pool. All in total there were 530 entered swimmers into the meet making for pretty crowded conditions both in and out of the pool.

In spite of that we had a large number of swimmers who had some great races and made some big leaps forward showing what kind of work they have been doing at practice.   

The meet was broken into two different formats:

• For the 10 and under swimmers, they did a pentathlon; 9-10 year olds swam a 50 of each stroke plus a 100 IM, 8 and younger swimmers did a 25 of each stroke plus a 50 free.

• For 11 and older swimmers, they had a prelims/finals format; everyone swam in the morning or prelims races. The fastest 12 (two heats) from each of the 11-12 and 13 and Older age groups came back to race again at night in finals.

  The following Wave Swimmers age 10 and under successfully completed the pentathlon by swimming all 5 races without a disqualification. Places were determined by adding up the total time of all 5 races and ranking them within their age or age group from lowest to highest total:
