Swim-A-Thon

Swimmer of the Week Contest (March 3-9th)

The individual swimmer who raises the most during this week wins a prize.

Julia Stevenson is in the lead, having raised $390 since March 3rd!!!  In 2nd place is Zoe Osborn, who has raised $130 since March 3rd! Way to go!

Swim-A-Thon Update

We have over $6000 in donations so far! 10 swimmers have already qualified to win a Deluxe WAVE Team Towel!!!  47 swimmers have gotten in donations so far, which is almost 20% of the team!  This is a great start, but we would really like to see every swimmer participate.   The whole team benefits from the Swim-A-Thon proceeds, so everyone should take part.  You can start by getting in your first $25, and see where it goes from there.  The online donation center is really easy to use. Check it out.

Swim-A-Thon Event– the morning of Saturday, March 15th:  It’s a Family Event!!! Parents count their swimmer’s laps.

More information will be coming out soon regarding how the day-of the Swim-A-Thon will actually run, and which session your swimmer will participate in, job sign-ups, etc., but for now, just block out the morning of Saturday, March 15th on your calendar.  The Swim-A-Thon will be finished by 10:00 AM.  All Explore, Challenge, Achieve and Varsity swimmers will need a parent at the pool to count their laps, or make arrangements for someone else to count their laps.  The Swim-A-Thon is a family event – with Food, Drinks and Fun for all (even coffee for the grown-ups). Corporate Matching of Swim-A-Thon funds

Be sure to check to see if your employer does corporate matching. As a non-profit organization, WAVE Aquatics is eligible to receive matching donations. For example, Microsoft will match employee donations of $25 or more.  Corporate Matching could make a huge difference in the amount of money we raise in the WAVE Swim-A-Thon this year.  Corporate matching donations also count towards all of our contests and can help your swimmer win the WAVE Team Towel  and other prizes.
