Swim-A-Thon!

The Swim-A-Thon activities, food, and fun are ultimately about raising money to support our swim team. A portion of the funds raised will go towards coaches' continuing education, dryland equipment and upkeep, swimmer swim clinics, Booster Board functions, video viewing items for all groups, and the Renew the Legacy pool fund. Juanita Pool is scheduled to close in 2017. Our kids need a pool to practice in and compete!

Only 25% of the team has participated to date. We need EVERYONE's help to make WAVE Aquatics #1! Suggested Minimum Donation: $25

Counting Lengths of the Pool

Each Explore, Challenge, Achieve and Varsity swimmer will need someone to count how far they swim. This person will count each length swum. A length is once across the pool. Excel swimmers do not need counters since they will be doing a normal practice.

Note: Swimmers can take breaks, get some drinks or snacks, then swim some more, as long as they stay within their allotted pool time.  It’s up to each swimmer to decide how far they want to swim.

Treasure (1 coin for every 10 lengths; 1 coin=1 booty)

For every 10 lengths, swimmers earn a Pirate Coin.  Swimmers will be able to take their pile of coins to one of the 2 pirate treasure chests and trade them for booty. 1 coin=1 piece of booty.

Food and Drinks

Coffee will be available in the pool lobby from 7:00 AM. Bagels and other snacks and drinks will be available starting 7:30 AM for parents and swimmers

WAVE Swim Towel Prizes

Each swimmer who has raised $250 by the morning of the Swim-A-Thon will be able to collect their towel in the Juanita Pool Lobby. Go to the towel table and the volunteer will be able to check your name off the list, and hand you your towel.

Swimmers who raise the $250 by March 31st will receive their towel prize at a later date.
