HS Swimming District Recap
Girls HS Swimming District Meet
This past weekend (November 8-9) was the WA State Seattle-King County District Meet at the Mary Wayte Pool. We had a solid number of kids from both the Senior Group and the Senior Epic Group make it to this meet and all the kids swam well. This is the last meet before the HS State Meet. Check out the recap for each swimmer below.
Senior:
From Inglemoor
Jewel Hau led the 200 Medely Relay to swim her fastest 50 Back ever making a new PNS cut. She also swam right at her time in the 100 Back and competed in the 100 Fly in prelims. Jewel will represent her school at States this week.
Grace Liu placed 11th in the 100 Fly and swam a best time in the 50 Fr leading the 200 Free Relay to finish 4th at finals. She also swam the 100 Breats in prelims. Grace will join her teammate Jewel to swim States this week.
From Juanita
Maya Sawicka swam 200 and 500 Free plus the 400 Free Realy demonstrating her power in the Freestyle events.
Abagail Bisset had a strong 100 Free dropping more than a second and also represented her school in the 400 Free Relay.
From Redmond
Anna Nguyen dropped her 100 Breast time for the second week in a row. She shaved another 1.5 seconds off her previous time.
Priyanka Kulkarni placed 11th in the 100 Breast demonstrating her consistency in this event throughout the season. She finalled in both KingCo and Districts meets. Priyanka also swam the 200IM in prelims.
Ella Reedy dominated the 200 Free swimming a lifetime best twice last weekend. She dropped 2 seconds in prelims and another 2 seconds in finals to finish in 6th place. She also placed 11th in the 100 Back swimming a personal best for the second week in a row. Ella helped the 400 Free Relay finish in 3rd place.
Yana Nanda swam the same events she did at KingCo last week and set new personal best times again in both 200 IM and 100 Back.
From Woodinville
Abbie Mosset swam the 100 Free under the minute for the first time ever and did a personal best time in the 100 Back. She also led the 200 Medley Relay to swim a lifetime best in the 50 Back.
Senior Epic:
Isabella Bono: Isabella went sub 2:00 in the 200 Free for the first time going a 1:59.36 (making a state time in the event) and finishing in 7th place. She also finished in 5th place going a solid 5:14 in season time.
Ella Marzec: Ella went a 1:00 in her 100 Fly (dropping over 4 seconds) and finished in 6th place. She also went a 1:00 in her 100 back (getting her state cut in the event) and finishing in 4th place.
Andrea Wu: Andrea went a best time in her 50 Free shaving off just shy of half a second and finishing in 3rd place. She also finished 2nd in her 100 Free with a 54.03 time. Andrea has both events for state also.
Congratulations to all the WAVE swimmers that swam at the District Meet. Also congrats to all the kids that wrapped up their HS Season this past weekend. Great work.
