Girls High School Postseason Recap

Wave had many athletes representing their high school team this past season. Below is a recap of their outstanding successes in the three postseason meets over back-to-back-to-back weekends: KingCo, Districts, and State. Congrats to our girls for the fast and fun High School Season!

Senior Epic

Senior Epic had three girls participating in the high school season this year and they all swam the postseason meets. See some highlights below:

  • Jenna Kimborowicz (Redmond HS) had a very busy and consistent postseason. She qualified to swim finals in almost all her individual events and both relays in all three meets. In her fastest meet, Jenna had a fantastic 200 IM going less than a second off her lifetime best and right at her best time in the 500 Free. On the 200 and 400 Free relays, Jenna swam her best-ever relay times in both 50 and 100 Free helping her team achieve great results for another year.
  • Renee Yin (Inglemoor HS) is in her Senior year and has been focusing on her academics. She qualified to swim finals in the 100 Back and the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays at both KingCo and District. At the State Meet, Renee swam the same two relays in prelims. Besides that, as a senior swimmer, Renee has been contributing to her team supporting her teammates and sharing her experience with them.
  • Lola Reynolds (Inglemoor HS) had a strong season and managed to swim a lifetime best in the 100 Breast at KingCo. She also had fast swims in all her 200 Free and 400 Free Relays, going less than a second off her best times at all the postseason meets. She helped her team to qualify for finals in the 200 Free Relay at State where she anchored the relay with one of her fastest times of the season.

Senior 1

The Senior 1 group had five girls compete in the High School Swimming postseason this year. All swam incredibly well with numerous best times achieved. This group featured four freshman swimmers who qualified for postseason meets with two of them making the team roster for the High School State Meet. It is so awesome to see our Wave swimmers have so much success not just with our team but as representatives of their respective High School Teams.

  • Hailey Crawford (Juanita HS) competed at all three postseason meets. At KingCo and Districts, she swam the 100 Breast and 200 IM, achieving a best time in the 200 IM and making finals in the 100 Breast at Districts. She was a valuable member of helping her school’s 200 Medley, 200 Free, and 400 Free Relays all qualify for the State Meet. At the State Meet, she swam the 100 Breast as an individual event and helped the 200 and 400 Free Relays secure spots in finals with the 400 Free Relay winning the consolation final. She had a great season and is excited to continue to crush it the rest of the year.
  • Iris Huang (Inglemoor HS) also competed at all the postseason meets. She competed in the 100 Fly and 100 Breast at KingCo and Districts. She swam very well and was just off her best times in both races at both meets. She contributed to the relays as well, helping her team qualify for the State Meet in the 200 Medley Relay and earning herself a ticket to the big show. At the State Meet, she was right at her best time as the breaststroke leg of her team’s 200 Medley Relay.
  • Rashmi Joshi (Redmond HS) competed in the 100 Fly and 100 Back at KingCo, swimming with great tenacity and ended up achieving a best time in the 100 Back while being right at her best time in the 100 Fly. Rashmi swam the 500 Free at Districts and was within a half second of her best time in the event. She had a great first season doing High School swimming and is looking forward to continuing to improve as the season progresses.
  • Neha Phatak (Redmond HS) competed in the 100 Fly and 200 Free at KingCo going close to her best times in both races. She swam the 500 Free at Districts and while she was slightly off her best time, it was her fastest 500 recorded at a High School meet this season. Neha has been right back to training incredibly hard and is looking forward to swimming fast the rest of the Wave season.
  • Rina Yuan (Juanita HS) competed at all three postseason meets this year, being a huge help in her team qualifying all the relays for the State Meet. Rina has been on a mission this year and has been absolutely tearing it up in the 50 and 100 Free. At the District Meet, she put together amazing swims in both races, going new personal bests. She didn’t let her drops end there, however! She went to State and swam on all three relays in prelims and the 200 and 400 Free Relays in finals. She was the lead-off leg for both relays in finals where she posted new best times in both events, dropping from her previous bests set just one week prior. She is very excited to see what she can do as we head into our Wave championship season and is looking forward to seeing even more time drops.

High School Group

The High School Group had four swimmers compete in the postseason of High School Swimming. All the girls who competed brought their A game to the meets and had some stellar performances. There were some solid time drops and several other swims that were right on their best times. It is awesome to see so many swimmers from Wave find success at the High School competitions.

  • Irina Burac competed for Woodinville HS. She was a valuable relay member along with competing in individual events at KingCo. She swam in the 200 Medley Relay, broke the 30:00 barrier in the 50 Free (29.86), swam the 100 fly, and lead off the 400 Free Relay with a 1:07.15!
  • Maya O’Neill swam for Inglemoor HS. She attended KingCo, swimming an individual event (100 Fly) and helped greatly on her team’s 400 Free Relay!
  • Aayona Pattanaik represented Redmond HS. She attended KingCo and swam one individual event and both the 200 and 400 Free Relays. She turned in a strong performance in the 100 free, dropping -1.00 exactly, a time that she matched in the 400 Free Relay!
  • Sarah Yi wore the colors of Eastlake HS. She was a solid member of two relays and competed in two individual events at KingCo. She turned in a great lead off leg of the 400 Free Relay, going a best time in the 100 free!
