Wave Boys Represent High Schools During Postseason
Wave had many athletes representing their high school team this past season. They had outstanding success in the three postseason meets over back-to-back-to-back weekends. KingCo, Districts, and State. Congrats to our boys for the fast and fun High School Season!
Senior 1
The Senior 1 group had 10 boys compete at the high school postseason meets. They had some fantastic swims with many of them making finals and helping to score points for their teams. They all stepped up and raced well producing a slew of best times across the 3 meets. Many of them were valuable members of relay teams that scored points for their teams at each level. It was exciting to see the results and hear from the boys how well they swam after each meet. They are back to full form with Wave and ready to rock and roll their way into our taper meets.
Neil Rawal - Junior - Eastlake
Neil represented his team at KingCo and District Championships and was an alternate for relay teams at State. He capped off a very strong season with some blazing fast swims. At Districts he put down a stunning swim in the 100 breast sprinting his way to a huge 3 second drop.
Dario Giuliani - Sophomore - Juanita
Dario competed at the KingCo meet for his team. He had great individual swims going just off his best time in both events. He was a member of the 200 medley relay where he got his team off to a great start going right at his best 50 back time.
Gahl Ami ad - Freshman - Redmond
Gahl swam at the KingCo championship meet. He made the most out of it as he turned in best times in all of his races. He had a fantastic swim in the 200 IM, absolutely crushing his previous best time by 3 seconds.
Arya Bhatt - Freshman - Redmond
Arya was a member of the KingCo squad for his school. He made his swims at the meet really count. He turned in a strong 100 fly going his 2nd fastest time ever and showed off his improved endurance swimming a fast second 50. He was also a member of 2 relay teams.
Tanay Boda - Sophomore - Redmond
Tanay competed at both KingCo and Districts. He put up solid swims across the board at both meets and proved to be a solid relay member for his team. He had a great swim in the 100 back at KingCo. He had a great start and kept his tempo high on his way to a solid 1 second drop.
Daniel Chen - Freshman - Redmond
Daniel was a member of both the KingCo and District teams. He put up back to back solid meets achieving best times in races at both. At the District meet he broke through a huge barrier in the 100 fly by going under 1:00. He didn’t just break the barrier he shattered it as he skipped right over 59 going straight to 58.
Kirill Kadach - Freshman - Redmond
Kirill competed at KingCo and District championships. He turned in great swims at both meets. He had a great run at KingCo making finals in both the 200 free and 500 free scoring points for his team. He doubled down in the 500 at Districts. Swimming for the 3rd time in 7 days he stepped up huge and turned in a solid best time in the event and qualified as the first alternate for finals.
Jiesse Shi - Freshman - Redmond
Jiesse represented his school at KingCo and Districts. He did a wonderful job of racing back to back weekends and turned in best times at both meets. At KingCo he had a very evenly split 500 in prelims that gave him a best time and a spot in finals. In finals he was able to turn on the jets at the finish to give him another time drop.
Bennett Geitz - Freshman - Woodinville
Bennett competed in individual events across all three meets as well as helping two of his relay teams score points at the State meet. He stepped up in a big way at the State meet and turned in some incredible swims. In prelims of the 500 he swam a very smart race holding well through the middle and finishing fast to give him a solid 7 second drop and a chance to swim again in finals. He was not done yet as he put his game face on and crushed the race again in finals dropping 4 more seconds from the previous day.
Gabe Traina - Sophomore - Woodinville
Gabe competed in individual events at both KingCo and Districts and was a member of relays at the State meet. He made the most out of his opportunity to swim relays and in finals of the 400 free relay had a major breakthrough as he went 49 in the 100 free for the first time. He had a spectacular 200 free at KingCo. He put up a solid prelims swim to get himself a lane in finals, he then stepped up and got off to a red hot start and was able to hold on giving him a 2 second drop.
High School
Ian Chow - Junior - Eastlake
Ian had a best time in his 200 free and was also in the Medley relay and 200 free relay. His 100 breast qualified him for districts.
Paolo Villanueva - Junior - Eastlake
Paolo competed in his 200 IM and his 100 breast. He had a best time in his 100 breast. He was also in the medley relay and the 200 free relay.
Feynman Chen - Senior - Juanita
Feynman was a senior this year and was able to swim in all three of the champs meets: Kingco, Districts, and State! He went a personal best in his 100 best by almost 2 seconds! He participated in the medley relay, and the 200 free relay at all three of the meets. He scored his team 5 points at KingCo. He scored 4 points for his team at districts.
Mike Nikitenko - Senior - Juanita
Mike swam a best time in his 200 free at Kingco and then repeated that and went 2:2 in his 200 free for another best time at districts, along with his 100 free! He also swam a best time in his 100 breast. Mike swam the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay at Kingco, Districts and was an alternate at state.
Jay Song - Junior - Lake Washington
Jay had a best time in his 200 IM and his 100 breast. He swam both those events at Kingco and Districts. He was also on the medley relay and the 200 free relay for Kingco, Districts and was alternate for State.
Alvin Chang - x - Redmond
Alvin competed at KingCo. Alvin had a personal best time in his 50 free. He also swam in the 200 free relay and 400 free relay.
Thomas Claux - Sophomore - Redmond
Thomas had two best times at Kingco in his 50 free and his 100 free. He also participated in 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. Thomas was qualified for districts in his 50 and 100 free. He was also an alternate for state for his relays.
Joseph Ngyuen - Senior - Redmond
Joseph swam his 100 fly at Kingco and qualified for districts. He was also in the medley relay and the 200 free relay for Kingco, Districts, and was an alternate for state.
Julien Wang - Junior - Redmond
Julien is a swimmer and diver. Julien swam his 50 free and 100 free at Kingco with a best time in his 50. He was also on the medley relay and the 200 free relay.
Oliver Wang - Sophomore - Redmond
Oliver achieved a best time in his 100 fly. He was also in the medley relay and the 200 free relay.
Andy Wang - Senior - Redmond
Andy is a senior this year and was able to compete at all three of the champs meets: Kingco, Districts, and State. Andy scored 4 points for his team at Kingco. He swam his 100 fly and 200 free along with medley relay and 200 free relay. Andy also scored another 4 points for his team at Districts. At state, he competed in his 100 fly and got 16th place. He was also in the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay that took 5th!
Rik Brusilovski - Junior - Woodinville
Rik competed at KingCo, Districts, and State! Rik swam the 200 free relay and 400 free relay at KingCo. He swam the 50 free and 100 Breast. At districts, he competed in his 100 fly and got a PB! He was also on the 200 free relay team at state and went a PB time!
Senior Epic had 8 boys representing their High School teams in the postseason meets. It was exciting to see them performing well for their school while still training hard for Wave. We had many amazing swims during the season with new best times, including new School Records and Meet Records being broken at KinkCo, Districts and State. A special shout-out to Jaiden who won the 200 Free at State for the second time (Junior and Senior years) and broke the Meet Record held by the Olympic Champion Nathan Adrian since 2006! Jaiden Sreenivasan - Senior - Redmond
Jaiden had a fantastic season and swam a few best times during the postseason meets. His best performance came at State with a phenomenal race in the 200 Free where he won the event and broke the Meet Record. He also helped his school to win the 200 Free Relay with a School Record and finished 2nd in the 500 Free.
Daniel Xia - Sophomore - Redmond
Daniel had an amazing season, going a few best times and finished it strong with an excellent performance in the 200 Free at State where he went a personal best and placed 4th. In the 200 Free Relay, along with Jaiden he helped his school to win State and break the School Record.
Logan Downing - Sophomore - Redmond
Logan got faster week by week and was able to do his best race ever in the 100 Breast at State, dropping a few tenths of second from his best time achieved in December. He qualified for the A final and finished in 7th place with a great race strategy in both prelims and finals.
Henry Geitz - Junior - Woodinville
Henry had a solid postseason and was excited to swim the 500 Free at State. At kingCo and District he worked on his race strategy to figure out the best way to swim the 500 Free and was ready to swim fast at State but unfortunately, he got sick and was not able to swim the meet.
Oleg Arlouski - Sophomore - Juanita
Oleg qualified to swim the 500 Free at State
and he was happy to make his first A final after doing a solid race at prelims. At finals he swam about the same time and finished the race in 8th place earning his spot on the podium.
Adrian Juco - Sophomore - Juanita
Adrian’s best race during the postseason was the 200 Medley at KingCo where he swam very close to his personal best. At State, he only swam the 200 Medley relay and helped his school with a fast Breaststroke split in that race.
Bradley Barkans - Senior - Juanita
Bradley had consistent swims at both KingCo and District where he swam the 100 Free and 100 Back and also helped his school to finish top 8 in the 200 Medley and 200 Free relays at both meets.
Ethan Na - Junior - Inglemoor
Ethan’s outstanding swim was the 50 Free at KingCo where he swam right at his best time. At State he helped his team to finish top 8 in the 200 Free Relay with his fastest split ever in 50 yards.
