WATCHING PRACTICE

Parents you are invited to watch practice. The best places to watch practice is from the picnic tables above the concrete steps on the far side of the pool, or from the veranda. If you are closer to the pool, you are a distraction and will draw the attention of the swimmers away from the coaches. This reduces the coaches’ ability to run an effective practice and you will be asked to leave.

PHOTOS DURING PRACTICE

We understand that you want to see your child's progress, however we ask that you not take photos or videos during practice.  If you would like to photograph/video your swimmer, please ask one of the coaches and we can make arrangements.

Meet Information
If possible, we would like all swimmers to attend at least 1 day of each meet. Meets help reinforce what is taught at practice by having them put the skills to practice. If you have questions about the meet please ask.

Next Meets

If your swimmer(s) do not have a time for an event, please refer to the Age Group Time Standards. From there, you will use the 'B' time standard + 5 seconds when entering a time. The reason for this is some meets will not let you enter a 'NT'. This is only for meets that do not require a qualifying time to enter.

Estimating an Entry Time - These are rough estimates on the slow side.  It is always better to be entered too slow than to be entered too fast.

Estimating a 25-yard entry time:

  • Enter the B time plus 5 seconds.

Estimating a 50-yard entry time:

  • Double your 25-yard time for that stroke and add 10 seconds.
  • Enter the B time plus 5 seconds.

Estimating a 100-yard entry time:

  • Double your 50-yard time for that stroke and add 10 seconds.
  • Enter the B time standard plus 5 seconds.

Estimating a 200-yard entry time:

  • Double your 100-yard time for that stroke and add 15 seconds.
  • Quadruple your 50-yard time for that stroke and add 30 seconds.
  • Enter the B time standard plus 5 seconds.

All swimmers need to have fins, snorkles and water bottles on deck each day.  Team uniforms, spirit wear and training gear can be found at Elsmore Swim Shop in the Countrywood Shopping Center.
