2024/2025 Howard Suamico Storm Breakers Swim Team Scholarship Application
The HSSB Swim Team has established the Swimming Scholarship in the amount of $500 to be given to an HSSB swimmer who is or has swam with the HSSB Swim Team and who will be pursuing a post-secondary degree. While it is preferred that the applicant pursue swimming after high school, it is not required.
Guidelines for Swimming Scholarship
The following criteria apply to the selection process:
- The applicant must be a past or current swimmer with HSSB.
2. The applicant can be pursuing a swimming career at the college level, but it is not required.
3. The applicant must be graduating from high school with at least a 2.5 GPA or, if in college, maintaining at least a 2.5 GPA.
4. A swimmer may apply for this scholarship all four years of college, but must reapply each year and meet all criteria.
5. The award will be paid to the student after they have completed a successful semester of college. Should the person selected to receive the scholarship be unable to attend college or institution in the year in which the award is made, the HSSB Scholarship Committee shall reconvene to review the circumstances of the student’s inability to attend college or it may declare the scholarship to be forfeited and shall proceed to award another deserving student the scholarship based upon the criteria mentioned above.
6. A recipient will only be able to receive the scholarship once during their college years.
7. Applications are due April 5, 2024.
