Meet Schedule Update
We have had a lot of turmoil in our meet schedule since we put it out in August. I think we have most of it ironed out now.
Things that have happened
- The KMSC Pro-AM has been discontinued after 30+ years. Very sad. We have been attending for over 20 years.
- The SSTY pool in Brown Deer is having repairs done on it’s boilers and will not be available for the GMO meet Oct 10-12. The meet has been moved to the Ramirez Aquatic Center in Milwaukee and the format has been changed
- FCYST has some conflicts with our normal Oct dual meet dates.

Oct 3 Friday Night Opener Oshkosh SR1/2/3 + D1/2/3
Oct 10 GMO Milwaukee SR1/2/3
Our SR1/2/3 groups are only going to swim at the Greater Milwaukee Open (GMO) on Friday for the 200 free, 500 free, 400 IM, 1000 free
Oct 11 FSC High Point Fond du Lac SR1/2/3 + D1/2
All groups except the D3 group are going to swim in Fond Du Lac on Saturday
Oct 19 D Group Meet Oshkosh D1/D2/D3
We are going to have a small intrasquad meet with the D groups similar to the Oct 3 meet.
Oct 24 LC YMCA Dual Brown Deer SR1/2/3
The repairs on the SSTY pool should be completed by Oct 24.
Nov 2 WYNS Turkey Splash Wausau SR1/2/3 + D1/2
We have added this meet to the schedule. A one day meet in Wausau.
Nov 15 Fall Dual w/FCYST Appleton SR1/2/3 + D1/2/3
Fox Cities YMCA is going to host our dual meet this year. This is our Fall Dual meet.

Capital City Classic
As sad as I was to hear that the KMSC Pro-AM would not be run again, I am equally excited about the Capital City Classic. The Capital City Classic is the run by the YMCA of the Triangle Area and held in Cary, NC. The Capital City Classic and KMSC Pro-AM have lots of similarities. The events schedule is similar, the time standards are similar, and the quality of competition is similar.
Most of the differences are very positive
- There are time standards for 15&O, 13-14, and 12&U, which means more opportunities for everyone.
- Swimmers that make one cut, get 6 swims. This will mean everyone that goes will get a full meet of opportunities
- The meet is a week earlier than the Texas meet. This should be easier on the holidays (last year we got back from Texas on Dec 23.)
The tentative schedule will be similar.
- The bus will leave Wednesday, Dec 10.
- We will travel about 2/3’s of the way on Wednesday and spend the night
- Thursday we will travel the rest of the way.
- Timed finals in some of the longer events Thursday night
- Prelims and finals Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
- Sunday night after finals, the bus leaves and we will get back to Wisconsin mid-day on Monday.
YMCA Nationals – Y Only requirements
To be eligible to swim at YMCA Nationals, swimmers must participate in 3 YMCA-Only meets plus 1 YMCA Sanctioned meet. It is important to get these meets in early.
