October 17-24

Coach Michael Brudzinski

This is your River Falls Swim News for the week of October 17-24

THIS WEEK (October 17-24):

Great Job to start off the year at OMNI last weekend! Results are attached to this email. All results with a – designator are time drops from a previous time. Excellent start to the season for all of our swimmers!

Thank you to everyone who helped run our final girls home HS meet of the season. It was  a great meet and the RFHS girls pulled off a close win against Chippewa Falls.

Registration is open for the next session of Developmental Lessons with RFSC. We are nearly full on the groups, but there are still a few spots open if you have a younger swimmer who wants to get involved with the team, or if you have friends/family who are interested. Please have them reach out to me, we would love to get them into RFSC and swimming with the team!

Registration Deadline for the STORM meet on November 6th is tonight at 11:00pm. Please make sure you get in and sign up for events if you plan on attending the meet.

NEXT WEEK (October 25-31):

Red Wing Invite is Friday October 29th. I will have a timeline and information early next week, as soon as I get them I will send out so that you know when to arrive for warm-ups and competition.

UPCOMING SWIM MEETS & EVENTS:

Friday October 29th: RWSC Open Invite, Twin Bluffs Middle School in Red Wing MN. 1 day, 1 session meet. Entries finalized and emailed to all families participating.

Saturday November 6th: STORM Open Invite, Prior Lake MN. 1 day, 2 session meet. Entry deadline today!

Saturday-Sunday November 20-21st: RFSC Autumn Dash Invite. 2 day, 4 session meet. Volunteering needed, two blocks of volunteering required per family. Full Sign-up open, perfect opportunity to compete at our home pool with some great competition in attendance.

MISC INFORMATION:

VOLUNTEERING: Volunteer spots are open for the home swim meet on November 20-21, you can go to the Team Events tab and select on Job Sign-up for the weekend. We need a lot of volunteering support to make the weekend successful, so please go out and select the events you can help with. Each family is required to complete two blocks of volunteering, this is two events or time slots during the meet. Family, friends, swimmers, neighbors, 3rd cousins twice removed are all welcome to come and help! It’s a fun event, and a great way to see our swimmers succeed at what they are practicing. Developmental families are welcome to volunteer as well, and get an opportunity to see what swim meets are like and support the team as well.

TEAM SUIT ORDERING: Link to order/purchase your suits: https://zoneswimwear.com/collections/river-falls-swim-club

  • PASSWORD FOR ORDERING: GoRiverFalls

-Email Coach Michael if you want to set up a time to try the sizing kit in the pool office to verify you get the right size. Girls suits, the thick strap version and thin strap version fit and size differently, we only have the thick strap version of the suit as part of the sizing kit. If you decide you are going to order the thin strap suit, you will want to go one size larger than the suit you try on in the sizing kit.

-Swim suit purchases are a direct sale between the families and the vendor, they will ship the suits straight to your house after purchase. If there are issues with sizing, there is nothing that RFSC can do to assist you, you must reach out directly to the vendor to work on corrections.

River Falls Swim Club Board of Directors:

An exciting volunteer opportunity: we are seeking nominations for the RFSC board! Two of our board members’ terms expire in January. If you are interested in helping shape the future of the River Falls Swim Club and be more involved in club operations, please contact current board president Melissa Anderson at [email protected] with questions or to express interest. Selection of board members occur at the RFSC Annual Meeting in January.

HAPPY SWIMMING!
Michael
