April 15th RFSC Spring Session Kickoff
This is your River Falls Swim News for April 15th!
Welcome to Spring Session! We are excited to have everyone back in the water and to be in full swing for the Spring Session! We do still have space in all of our competitive groups if you haven’t signed up for spring session yet and are still interested!
Updated Team Records have been posted to the website and are hanging on the pool office wall! Congratulations to Pax Schoonover, Macyn Sawall, Brielle Gray, and Elise Gulick on setting new team records this last month!
UPCOMING SWIM MEETS & EVENTS:
The meets for the Spring and Summer Session are posted on the Team Events page of the website. Many of the host teams for meets this spring and summer do not have the event file completed yet or their full meet information ready; they are actively working on getting these finalized and posted. As soon as I have the meet information and file, I will add it to the event and send out an update about the meet so swimmers can get signed up.
The STAR memorial meet at Highland Park is a priority entry for us, we need to submit our preliminary entries by Tuesday April 19th to reserve our spots, we will be able to do updates as the meet gets closer, but I need you to commit and add your entries in the next couple of days if you plan to attend the meet. This is a great meet and an excellent outdoor 50 meter pool for us to compete in!
Summer Session HOME Meet: Minnesota Achievement Championships (MAC’s) July 9-10, 2022. River Falls has been selected as one of the sites for a championship meet. This will be a HUGE meet for RFSC to host and a great opportunity to showcase our team and facility as part of the championship series for the summer session!
May 7-8: Farmington Tigersharks Invite; Meet information and event file still coming
May 21-22: SCSC Splash into Summer Invite hosted at Bluewater Aquatic Center, Apple Valley MN. Meet Information is in the team event, the meet event file is still pending, I will update as soon as swimmers can select events.
May 26: St. Paul Saints Baseball game honoring Minnesota Swimming. Join teams from Minnesota Swimming at CHS Field for a baseball game, all swimmers who attend will get a St. Paul Saints Swim Cap. Information about the event and to purchase tickets can be found on the team event page.
May 27-28: STAR Memorial Weekend Invite; Highland Park Outdoor Pool. Meet information and sign-up is open, entries must be completed by April 19th for us to reserve our spot.
June 10-12: Alexandria Summer Invite and Open Water Swim. Alexandria MN. Meet Information, Event file and team Hotel block are all coming in the next couple of weeks. We will also plan to do a team dinner event during this meet.
June 18: Aquajets June Invite. Eden Prairie, MN. Meet Information is posted, event file is still coming.
June 24-25: MANTAS Summer Invite. This is our second Long Course Meter (50m) outdoor pool meet of the summer. A great meet and pool in Mankato MN. Meet Information and event file are pending.
July 9-10: RFSC Hosted Minnesota Achievement Championships (MAC’s). Home Swim meet and first Championship meet of the summer. Meet information and event file pending. MAC’s entry qualifications: swimmers must have a posted time in the event, but must be slower than the Silver time standard.
July 15-17: MSI Minnesota Regional Championships (MRC’s). Meet location, information, and event file are all pending. Eligible swimmers are those who have achieved a Silver or Gold time in an event, but slower than a Champ time.
July 21-24: MSI LCM Senior State. Location TBD, swimmers 15 & Over who have achieved Champ times or faster.
July 28-31: MSI 14&Under LCM State. Location TBD, swimmers 14&Under who have achieved Champ times or faster.
August 8: MSI Open Water State Championship. Location TBD, swimmers of any age who have achieved the qualifying times in an open water event.
MISC INFORMATION:
SUMMER SESSION: Summer session runs from June 6th- August 5th. Summer session will have morning practice and evening practice opportunities. Full practice times will be available in early May.
SUMMER DEVELOPMENTAL: Summer developmental session are offered June 6-July 15th & July 18-August 26th.
