BIRD BATH MEET RECAP
Wave braved the heat, humidity, and storms to attend the 25th Annual Bird Bath meet this past weekend. It was 3 LONG days of competition, and we are so happy with the results! Swimmers got to experience an outdoor 50M pool, some for the first time. We cheered, dressed up each day for the slated themes, and overall had a great time! Check out the attached pictures from the meet. Looking good Wave swimmers!
Swimmer of the Meet: Hayden Ellefson Hayden thoughtfully let a younger Wave swimmer borrow her goggles behind the blocks so that she could swim her event. Great Wave spirit Hayden!

MEET COACH AMANDA
I grew up in Tempe, Arizona. I have been in and around the pool my whole life, but started swimming competitively at the age of 6. I then went on to swim in college for a few years at York College of Pennsylvania. I started working for the City of Tempe at the age of 16 where I was a lifeguard and taught people of all ages to swim. My last few years there I was the Head coach of the summer league team for one of the pools. I recently moved to Wisconsin after graduating with my Master's of Social Work from Arizona State University. I currently work at SSM health. I am excited to be back around the pool coaching with the Waunakee Wave.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Need something to do in the off season? We are ALWAYS on the lookout for potential meet officials! You’re at the meets already, why not have a hand in helping run them?!!I There is some certification and training involved, but Sandy is ready to support. Serving as a meet official automatically fulfills your volunteer requirements too! What are you waiting for??
