13 AND OVER STATE RECAP

Our 13 and overs traveled to Pleasant Prairie this past long weekend for state championships. After a long and grueling 4 days of prelims and finals, Waunakee Wave came out with some fantastic swims! Our relays competed in finals and competed strong, and our individual swimmers swam so well!

 

Jayson Patten swam to an 11th place finish in the 800 Free, and 13th place in the 200 Backstroke, with almost 100% best times. Way to go Jayson!

 

Abby Pralat got 100% best times this past weekend, with some strong swimming and amazing team sportsmanship! She stayed 2+ hours after her final swim to count and cheer for Jayson in his 800 Free. Thanks Abby!

 

Kaia Kinas swam 4 individual events and 2 relays, and got almost all the best times! She had some goals this past weekend, and kept going after it until she achieved it! Congratulations Kaia!

 

FALL REGISTRATION DETAILS NOW AVAILABLE

  • The Wave website has now been updated to reflect our fall registration details including:
  • Returning swimmer registration opens 8/13
  • Note: you must be logged into your account to see group assignments

FALL CHANGES

As you may have noticed already with today’s Fall registration publishing, there were a number of notable changes to team including:​

  • New Session & Fee Approach
  • Altered Training Groups
  • New Volunteer Policy
  • New “Admin” Role & Email

With this, please take the time to review all the website information to ensure you are current with these changes.  Further, the Handbook has also been updated to reflect these changes, in addition to other changes.  Now would be a great time to refresh yourself on the Handbook in general.

All of these changes are either directly or indirectly tied to our strategic planning work and based on your feedback.  We will speak more to all these changes at our 8/13 Strategic Planning Sessions, including commentary on how they connect to the strategic plan.

YOU’RE INVITED TO A STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION

The Wave Board invites families to  hear a summary of the key insights from the Family Survey and learn about the Strategic Plan we’ve been building. Please read the attached letter for more details about this important planning and listening session.

Strategic Planning Session Event Details

Date: Tuesday, August 13, 2024

Times:

  • 6-7pm Session: Parents of Ripples, Bronze1 & 2, and Silver Swimmers*
  • 7-8pm Session: Parents of Gold and Senior Swimmers*

Location: Waunakee High School Drama Room

*Parents with swimmers in both groups may attend either session, although we’d recommend participation in the Gold/Senior session.
