ANNUAL MEETING
Thank you to everyone who attended the recent Annual Meeting. The Board shared their vision for the club along with updates on our financial health. Please email our Admin if you’d like to see the presentation slides or video from the meeting.
NEW SEASON LAUNCH EVENT
Please celebrate the 24-25 swim year!
Details also found on the events page of the website (must be logged in to view):
WHAT: Swimmers and immediate families are invited to celebrate the start of a new swim season! Swimmers will tie dye their team-issued Wave shirt while adults mingle (adults are welcome to bring their own adult beverages!), and siblings may enjoy Meadowbrook Park amenities (bring equipment as desired)!
WHEN: Friday, October 4th | 5-6:30pm
WHERE: Meadowbrook Park | 900 Pleasant Valley Parkway | Waunakee
Please RSVP HERE by 10/3
Volunteers are needed to make this a successful event--please consider signing up (note: some positions begin BEFORE or AFTER the event)!
Please be aware the park’s water will be turned off for the season, and drinking fountains and bathrooms will be unavailable at Meadowbrook Park. To accommodate this, the Meadowbrook neighborhood clubhouse has been reserved for its facilities as needed, which is a short walk from the Meadowbrook Park shelter. Volunteers are needed to oversee the clubhouse.
LAST CHANCE TO ORDER WAVE MERCH
Hurry! The time to order Wave gear is now. All orders must be in BY SEPTEMBER 29th! Check out the link here to find Wave branded gear for swimmers and their families. All fall registered and active swimmers will receive a Wave branded t-shirt and swim cap as part of their registration for the year, but it doesn’t hurt to have Wave swag back ups.
Additionally, swimmers who are competing in meets are responsible for ordering a Wave competition swimsuit or a similar black swimsuit for meets. Stop into Simply Swimming and they’d be happy to help you get fitted.
At checkout: please select curbside pick up/team delivery for your order to be delivered to the team. If you would like your items shipped to your home address, you must pay for shipping. Any questions, call Simply swimming at 608-836-6649!
YOUTH NIGHT GIRL’S HIGH SCHOOL SWIM
Come cheer on the Waunakee Girls Swim team, featuring some of our favorite Wave Senior swimmers, at Youth Night on Tuesday, October 1st from 6-8pm. There will be snacks and poster signings after the meet for the youth attendees. And no swim practice means it's a great chance to experience the thrill of high school swimming from the stands! All are welcome!
MEET DECLARATIONS
We received meet details for the two October meets and have updated the events accordingly! Please declare as soon as possible whether your swimmer can or cannot attend (note: the first meet has a declaration date of 9/30!). For multiple day meets, a note within the declaration may be entered to indicate day(s) available/unavailable. A reminder coaching staff will select your swimmer’s events.
To declare for a meet, log in to your account and navigate to Team Events, click on attend/decline for the respective event, click on your swimmer’s name, select Yes or No from the dropdown, add any notes, then click Save Changes. It is that easy!
USA SWIMMING REGISTRATION (also posted in FAQs on the Wave site)
Swimmers who compete in meets are required to hold an active USA Swimming (USAS) membership. Based on the following criteria, Wave will bulk renew memberships for members who:
-Currently hold a USAS membership with a 12/31/24 expiration date
-Reflect WAUN (Wave’s team code) in their USAS account
-Are in a Performance Group (Purple, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Senior B, Senior A)
Members who meet the criteria will have their accounts renewed by 9/30, and Wave accounts will be charged $90. Memberships are valid 9/1/24-12/31/25.
TRANSFER SWIMMERS:
If you have a transfer swimmer and have not yet initiated a transfer within USAS, you received a separate email requesting the update be completed by 9/26. If not completed by this date, separate arrangements outside of the bulk renewal will be necessary.
NEW SWIMMERS:
If you have a new swimmer, you will need to create a USA Swimming account and register your swimmer for this year (subsequent years will be bulk renewed). Please use this Wave-unique link to complete the registration with WAUN as the team code: WAVE USAS REGISTRATION LINK
DEVELOPMENT GROUP SWIMMERS:
If you have a swimmer in Ripples, Breakers, and/or Wave Team Fitness, your swimmer will not be included in the bulk renewal. However, if you know your swimmer will participate in meets, please contact the Wave Admin to be included in the bulk renewal (those who meet the above criteria) or new swimmers are welcome to self-register using the link above. Ad hoc registrations are possible should your swimmer later choose to participate in meets and require a USAS membership!
NON-FALL SWIMMERS:
If your swimmer is currently not registered for the fall session and will be returning for the winter session (such as high school girls) or for Long Course, they will not be included in the bulk renewal unless otherwise requested to the Wave Admin.
Please contact the Wave Admin with questions!
