WAVE FALL GATHERING FRIDAY

Check out the awesome pictures from our Friday gathering. A HUGE shout out to Rachel and Bill Tygum for bringing their expertise and talents to our tie dye extravaganza! Thank you Rachel and Bill for making us the best looking tie dyed team out there!

TSHIRT AND SWIM CAP DISTRIBUTION TODAY AND THURSDAY

All fall registered swimmers receive a shirt and cap as part of their enrollment fees. If you were NOT at the tie dye party Friday, we made a tshirt for you! A Board member will be at the pool to distribute caps (and tshirts) this Wednesday (TODAY) from 6:30-7:30pm and Thursday 7:15-8:30pm.

COACH APPRECIATION WEEK

Did you know it's Coach Appreciation Week? (October 7-13th) And while we aim to celebrate our amazing Wave Coaches all year long, let’s make an especially big show of appreciation for our dedicated Swim Coaches this week!!

Sending out a big “Hip Hip Hooray” to all of our Wave Coaches! With an extra “Hip Hip” for our very own Head Coach Sandy. Thank you for all that you do to motivate, grow and support our swimmers!! 🎉

ATTENDANCE UPDATE

Thank you for your patience…dating back to the Strategic Planning meeting, the Board has been considering multiple options to afford members an easy way to communicate missed practices while simultaneously keeping coaches informed and reducing email traffic.
While there is still hope for an attendance option to make its way to the SportsEngine Motion app, we are bridging that gap with a Google Form! Beginning with next week’s practices (any missed practices 10/14 and forward), please utilize the form to indicate both a missed practice and to declare attendance for that week’s make-up practice. **Available to Ripples, Breakers, Purple, Bronze, and Silver groups

A reminder that make-up practices are to supplement a missed practice from the preceding week; if your swimmer will attend a make-up practice, please submit the attendance form prior to their missed practice.

A link to the form is also located on the website in the Athlete Information dropdown!

WINTER SESSION REGISTRATION

The fall session concludes 11/17 with the winter session seamlessly beginning 11/18!

  • Winter registration opens 10/22 for returning families and 11/5 for those who have not been registered with Wave within the past 12 months
  • Winter session rates are posted on the Fees page (note: winter session runs longer than the fall session)
  • Group assignments and practice schedules will be posted 10/15
  • High school girls swimmers: if your HS season ends prior to the start of Wave's winter session, you are welcome to join us for the remaining fall session! When the time is right, reach out to the Wave Admin for prorated registration details!

DECLARE FOR TRICK OR TREAT MEET BY 10/10 (TOMORROW!)

Please sign up for the Trick or Treat Sweet Meet taking place on October 27th by TOMORROW. This meet fills up quickly so this is a hard deadline. You simply need to commit or decline the meet. A continued reminder that requests for specific races or stroke selection should NOT be included.

We will be holding our "First Swim Meet Q and A" session next week Thursday, October 17th at 6:15pm. Location TBD. If you are a new family, transfer family, or just need a refresher, please join us! More information is coming soon.

HARBOR NUTRITION SUGGESTIONS FOR SWIMMERS

Attached you will find a nutrition sheet that the Harbor Athletic Club trainers sent us to help families navigate the busy world of nutrition in sports. Swimmers work very hard and sometimes have activities before and after practices, so these are some good examples of fuel for their bodies! Thanks Harbor!
