COACH’S CORNER

10 & UNDER STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MEET RECAP

Waunakee Wave brought 14 swimmers to the 10 & Under State Championship meet this past weekend in Verona. Let me just say that these athletes swam their hearts out at this meet and had a blast! Coaches are just so proud of everyone representing our team at this meet!

We had some tremendous individual and relay swims, resulting in our 3rd place finish among Division 2 teams (“medium” sized clubs) and 12th place overall finish!  We had 7 different swimmers earn individual points (Top 16 finish) and multiple podium finishes as noted below.

11-14 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MEET

Ten Wave swimmers will head to the Pleasant Prairie Rec Plex this coming weekend to compete for the State Championships in their respective age group. Let's wish the following swimmers good luck this weekend:

SPRING REGISTRATION
Spring session registration is open for current families (anyone active the past 12 months) and opens 3/9 for new families! Group assignments, fees, practice schedule, and meet schedule are available on the website!

If you know swimmers interested in joining Wave, evaluation signups are available on the website!

WAVE ADMIN POSITION
Are you highly organized, with strong communications skills?  Do you want to help support our team in a highly flexible, paid capacity?  Our paid Team Admin position is a tremendous opportunity for a member parent side-gig.  Just 2-4 hours per week of highly flexible work that can easily fit into your existing schedule.  This role is critical to our success; we’d love to have your talents!  You are here already, why not get paid & help drive our success!  Please contact Anthony Caruso, Wave President for more information regarding this important role!  

ANNUAL CELEBRATION
Save the date of May 18th for our annual team celebration!  We are still seeking 2-4 Wave parents to assist in planning & executing this event.  Great opportunity for parents who want to help support the team, but are unable to make the year-round commitment of other roles within the program.  Please reach out to the Admin if interested.
