COACH’S CORNER

We are a week into our spring session, and things are going really well! Coaches have had an opportunity to meet some new faces, and continue to challenge our returning swimmers. Thank you for allowing us to coach your children!

A few reminders for swimmers and parents:

Parents are NOT allowed on deck past the purple bleachers (behind the blocks) due to USA Swimming and Athlete Protection Policies. If you have an urgent need to speak with a coach, please try to flag them down and they will come to you by the bleachers.

If you have a general question for coaches, please do not approach them during practice, as their attention needs to be on the kids in the water. You can email Coach Sandy or Admin.

Gold, Senior A, & Senior B groups began their dryland training this week. Please have these swimmers arrive at the scheduled dryland time with your proper attire, water bottle, and yoga mats. The trainer will come on-deck to gather the swimmers.

As each session begins, coaches are still evaluating swimmers to ensure ideal group placement. Sandy will contact individual families if coaches feel that a mid-session adjustment to a group placement is necessary. Impacted families should expect contact by the end of next week.

ATTENDANCE REMINDER

Please use the Google Form (one form per swimmer) to indicate a missed practice and declare attendance for that week’s make-up practice (make-up practices available to Ripples, Breakers, Purple, Bronze, and Silver groups).

REMINDERS

MAY MANIA MEET - MAY 9-11

Reminder that declaration for this meet closes later TODAY, April 10th. This 50M meet is intended for our 13 and older swimmers in performance training groups. All other swimmers should first consult with Coach Sandy prior to declaring “Yes” for this meet.

MEET DECLARATIONS - IN GENERAL

You may have received some automated emails from SportsEngine regarding approaching registration deadlines, which include detailed instructions on how to declare for the meet. Some of these instructions are not applicable to our team and should be ignored, specifically around event selection. As outlined in our handbook, coaches will make all event selections for swimmers and families simply need to select “Yes” or “No” to attend a specific meet. If families are only available at certain days or times, feel free to share that information with coaches by adding comments within the declaration.

Again, Coaches, NOT families, will select the events that swimmers race in each meet. Thank you for trusting our Coaches!

EMAIL INQUIRIES

Reminder that most questions can & should be directed to our Team Administrator ([email protected]) who can then respond or direct you to the correct person. Coach Sandy is also available for direct outreach ([email protected]) for questions specific to in-water swimmer experience. Further, our Board Officers (President, VP, & Treasurer) are also always available for direct outreach if desired (their email addresses can be found on our website).
