COACH’S CORNER
It is a busy time of year as we close out the school year and prepare for summer. Good luck to our Wave families a they navigate this sometimes chaotic season of life. But please be sure to review this newswletter carefully as there is A LOT of great information about the current season and the next.
We are waiting for final information from both the May Mania meet, and the VAST meet. Once we receive it, attending families will get more specific information. Thanks so much for your patience!
As a reminder, due to the multiple meets this weekend, there will be no practices or make-up practices on Saturday or Sunday, May 10-11th.
We appreciate everyone's effort to keep coaches posted with absences on the attendance form! If your swimmer will be late to practice, however, please be in contact with Coach Sandy directly ([email protected]) for approval or guidance, as some are arriving with very little time left in practice, which is not appropriate. Thank you!
WELCOME (and welcome back) COACHES
Jenna Abendroth has returned as a junior coach to assist in working with the swimmers during the last few weeks of her senior year, and throughout the summer! We are so excited to have Jenna helping our swimmers!
Amanda Beckman will be returning from college for the summer to help as a coach as well! She is always a welcome presence on the pool deck, and is able to give fantastic feedback to swimmers.
Natalie Kessler is trading in her swimsuit, cap, and goggles for a coaches shirt! Natalie has been a swimmer on the Wave for years, but will be returning this year as a helper coach. Natalie's positive attitude and wanting to stay involved with Wave in a different capacity is extremely admirable and appreciated. Thank you Natalie!!
Congratulations to Coach Jill for graduating from college this weekend at UW-Madison. We are so excited for you!
WELCOME NEW TEAM ADMINISTRATORS
We are excited to announce the hiring of Shana Ward and Chris Johnson to the Wave staff as our new Team Administrators! Shana and Chris have been passionate swim parents in our Wave community for several years already and are excited to serve our membership in this expanded capacity. Please welcome them!
Shana and Chris will share Administrator responsibilities in a seamless way, where families can continue to think of it as a single function/person as they interact with [email protected] for their questions and assistance needs. Having two share the role ensures greater coverage, continuity, and level of service to the members which is why the Board moved in this direction. Their onboarding has already begun and we hope to have them fully operational by the end of the month.
Lastly, the Board was so impressed by the number of Wave parents who expressed interest in stepping forward to serve in this role; it speaks to the strong team culture we've built together! Thank you to all that expressed interest!
