Pacific Zone JO Qualifying Tournament Results: CCU 19U, 14U, 12U & 10U Coed place first. The Pacific zone completed the JO qualifying tournament this last weekend. CC United won 4 of the five age group tournaments- placing first in the 10U mixed, the 12U Boys, the 14U Boys and the 19U Boys. Overall, 11 of our 14 competing teams qualified for the 2023 National JO Championships held in Orange County in July. CCU Players Travel to Europe on the USA Jr. National Water Polo Team Congratulations to the CC United players chosen to represent the USA on the Jr. National Team. They traveled to play in the “Belgrade Trophy” tournament June 1-5. Then travel to Romania to play in the 2023 World Aquatics Junior World Championships that begin June 10. This week there are no practices as we take a break- High School Players are going through the NCS Playoffs. The winter session practice times and start time will be posted soon. All Practices are at Acalanes High School. All Practice schedules will be posted on the www.ccupolo.com website. Game and tournament information will be posted on Age group shutterfly sites. Players will be added to Shutterfly sites once registered.
2022 Champions Cup – CCU wins Silver Medal Congrats to the 14U Black team- they placed 2nd at the 2022 Champions Cup today. Champions Cup is the USA Waterpolo 8th Grade Championship event, it was held in Westmont Illinois. The team defeated Greenwich Saturday night- they were behind 4-10 at halftime, came back to win 13-11!!. CCU played Stanford this AM in the semi-finals- winning 9-5. Facing Del Mar in the finals was a tough loss- final score 16-10—interesting note was that were 25 kickouts/exclusions called in the Championship Game....
The 2022 Fall session has come to an end- it has been very successful. The 10U Coed team placed first at the Cousineau Cup- beating Newport and Vanguard on the way. The 12U boys program continues to be one of the best and deepest in the country- at Cousineau Cup the Black team placed 3rd in the platinum bracket and the Blue team placed 3rd in the Gold bracket The White team continued to improve. Congratulations to the following CCU players that are graduating from High School and moving on to College after the 2022 JO Championships. Many of these players and families have been part of the CCU family for many years and we will miss them. They have all contributed to the “vibe” or culture that defines our club. This group of players and parents have retained a positive, supportive attitude throughout the years and the pandemic.
