Become a Meet Official for WAT
Officials are present at all competitions to ensure that the technical rules of swimming and fair competition are followed. They attend clinics (online), pass written tests (open book), and work meets to become certified.
All parents are encouraged to consider officiating. Please talk to a Coach or a Board Member for more information on becoming an official for WAT or head to Wisconsin Swimming's website for the complete steps!
Why Should I Become an Official?
- You're at the meet anyway, so why not?
- WAT needs the volunteers of it's families to succeed.
- Free food at meets you work at - both home and away! Who doesn't love free food?!
- WAT will cover your training fees!
- Being on deck provides a shorter walk for your swimmer(s) to come to you looking for money$$...
- You become more educated and informed about swimming.
- You have the satisfaction of knowing you are contributing to your swimmer(s) meets.
- You can officiate at WAT meets, WHS meets, or other meets in the area.
- It counts toward your volunteer hours!
- Best seat in the house!! (Bleachers are crowded and uncomfortable!)
