Welcome to the 2025/2026 Winter Season - Some important information you should know for the 1st day - Monday, October 6th

Holly Campbell

Welcome to the Gillette Swim Team 2025/2026 Winter Season!! I wanted to touch base to inform you of a few important things as we begin our season. The 1st day of practice is Monday, October 6th.

  • Practice times: These are listed under the Practice Schedule/Group Descriptions tab on our website. We offer practice Monday-Thursday for all groups. We understand that families need to be families. Of course...the more practices your swimmer attends...the faster they will improve but we know you may not be able to attend all that are offered. We recommend 2 or more practices a week for Gator and Red Groups / 3 or 4 practices a week for White and Jr High Groups. High School Swimmers...you might as well move into the pool. :) Just kidding...talk with Coach Phil or Coach Luke about what would work best for you and your goals.
  • Drop off / Pick up times: High School/Jr High: 15 minutes prior to the start of practice or whenever the bus drops you off.
Jr High swimmers: These are the routes that take you to the Aquatic Center right after school: Twin-78 / Sage-75. Pick up time is 5:15pm for Jr High and 5:30 for High School.
Gator/Red/White: 5:15pm drop off...DO NOT ENTER THE POOL DECK UNTIL 5:15PM. Pick up time is 7pm for all groups.
  • Parking: DO NOT PULL THROUGH, PARK OR IDLE IN THE FIRE LANE!! EVERYONE MUST DROP OFF AND PICK UP FROM A PARKING SPOT IN THE PARKING LOT!! (You will receive about 5 more of these messages this season...please follow the rules of THE FIRE LANE.)
  • Suits/Goggles/Caps: A 1 piece suit is recommended for females and jammers are a hot pick for the males. A good pair of goggles is a must for every swimmer. Swimoutlet.com is a great place to purchase all things swimming. Search youth swimsuits / goggles. Speedo is always a good choice. Every swimmer will receive a GST cap at registration. It never hurts to have a back up. You can find some pretty fun ones on swimoutlet.com also.
  • LOCKERSHS AND JR. HIGH are the ONLY groups who can leave their things at the pool overnight. Your locker must be closed and locked at all times! If not...items left out will be put in the lost and found. Green/Red/White: You may use the lockers during practice only!
    • The Aquatic Center and GST are NOT responsible for lost or stolen items!!
  • Mobile Apps: Download SE motion (Sports Engine) and Meet Mobile. Sports Engine will use the same login you use for the GST website. All account information and so much more can be found on this app. Meet Mobile is an app that links up to most swim meets that we attend. More information on these apps will be discussed at the parent meeting in a few weeks.
  • Codes of Conduct: When you registered...you checked a box that you read the Parent Code of Conduct and the Swimmer Code of Conduct. ;) You can find these contracts and much more in the GST Handbook on Gilletteswimteam.org. It is extremely important for everyone that these are followed the entire season.
  • Do not approach Coaches or swimmers during practice. All coaches will be on deck 15 minutes prior to practice. This is a great time to speak with them. You will also find their email address under their name under the coaches link on the website.
  • WE COMMUNICATE THROUGHT EMAIL!  Make sure these messages are not going to your spam folder.
  • PARENT MEETING OCTOBER 21ST @ 5:30PM at the Aquatic Center. EVERYONE NEEDS TO ATTEND! THERE ARE SEVERAL CHANGES THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE AWARE OF.
  • gilletteswimteam.org has all of the information you need throughout the season. Please take the time to browse through it for answers to questions you may have.
  • We have Open Registration unil January 6th!

I know that this may seem like a lot of information...and there will be more I'm sure. If you ever have any questions...do not hesitate to reach out to me, the coaching staff or GST Board members. We are all here to help you and to make things run smoothly for everyone. We are looking forward to a GREAT season!!

Coach Holly
