Relay Makes Junior Nationals!!

Thanks to beastly training, and the right amount of enthusiasm the Mighty Marlins Women’s 800 Free Relay bettered the time standard of 7:49.79 and quallified for NSCA Jr. Nationals in Florida.  The enthusiasm was shared by everyone but the catalyst was Jewel LeValley who had figured out what each person needed to do for the team to make the standard, and most importantly Jewel had to have over a second time drop for it to be possible.  A 1:57.44 average is what was needed!

Jennifer Domanowski led off taking 1 second off her personal best clocking a 1:56.53.  The team could see the time on the enormous reader board and it fueled their fire.  Jewel was next with a best time coming in at just over 2 minutes she swam an incredible 1:58.42 (over a 1.5 second drop).  Still 2 great swims were needed.  Hannah Peseau had dropped a second earlier that day in the open 200 free and she cut nearly another second off that with a 1:57.67.  Morgan Ginnis was the anchor (the youngest member of the team).  She had clocked a 1:57.31 earlier that day and needed a 1:57.24 or better for the team to make it.  She went out at a blistering pace and finished in a huge personal best of 1:56.45.  They had done it with a very impressive 7:49.07 clocking.

Congratulations to these fine young ladies.  Having all four drop time in 1 relay is amazing, and the screaming and hugging joy at the end of the race made every morning workout worth every minute!
